Well, Happyhippo, the same thing you say about ABBA is said by Scaruffi about the Beatles: and this, if I were you, would concern me..:-)) Although the "divine cri(p)tique" of ABBA doesn't speak ill of them...

Vortex, I think you're right about Spector. Regarding the hard rock/punk relationship, I never said that punk comes from hard rock; simply, hard rock was already forming in the early '70s, while punk arrived in '76: NWOBHM is nothing more than the acceleration of the dark hard rock of the Sabbath with a "splash" of punk. You're also mistaken about the third point: while it's true that the "refuse," as you called it, hadn't arrived in Sweden, the various members of ABBA were not only already playing and quite famous in the '60s, but they also frequented "English" circles; they themselves met in European youth gathering places. I agree that they were "contrasted" with '68 against their will; in fact, as I've already mentioned, before their fame, they themselves frequented "hippie" environments.

"I Know There's Something Going On" by Frida is a great piece that couldn't be missing from my collection, no less beautiful than her productions with ABBA. But those last ones, when they were together, wrote history: I also understand those who got fed up because they played them all the time on the radio; this, especially in the '80s, made them quite overexposed, but for me, their music, despite its extreme simplicity and catchiness, remains grand. As for HARDROCK '92: don't worry, I will also review something rock, but I don't think it's time yet. The fact is that there are dozens and dozens of reviews always about the same rock and metal bands (Beatles, Stones, Led, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, Metallica, whom I adore anyway), and there's only one (ONE) review on ABBA ("Gold," a greatest hits). And it can't be said that ABBA is a niche group...

It had been since "Stairway to Heaven" that I hadn't listened to such a beautiful song.
