I don't know, I don't think Duane was banned for insulting religions or whatever, but because he was insulting just about everyone on this site. And if the anonymous person isn’t him, well, the argument still stands because, honestly, Duane was indefensible. Moreover, I honestly don’t see the evidence; Alessio's argument was in other terms (look at what I have to do, defend AlessioIride...;-) ).

Danger, at least until the problem is addressed clearly, obviously, and with civic education from our non-existent state and a sense of wanting well-being from individuals.

@Kosmo: that's right, it's in that direction that my post was aiming, trying not to generalize instead, because it's true that cannabinoids are not comparable to heroin for example, nor to the underrated cocaine, but they certainly have a social danger. @Zio: you got the concept!

It's true, not everyone who uses soft drugs turns to heroin, but those who have switched to heroin all first used soft drugs. I'm not trying to start a debate, as I am for complete legalization, but we can't hide behind our fingers; it's obvious that the market for hard drugs is based on capturing the more "receptive" individuals, who are generally found among the more vulnerable (for social, familial reasons, etc.) and those who have an inflated and superficial relationship with themselves ("I can quit whenever I want..."). Therefore, it's clear that those who claim cannabinoid consumption is the gateway to heroin are making an incorrect statement. However, the problem is that it's true that predators take advantage of certain human weaknesses, to the extent that (and I'm speaking from professional experience; you can trust me) one of the methods to capture "clients" is to withdraw all soft drugs from a certain place at a certain time and flood the market with heavy drugs. The more receptive individuals I mentioned earlier will fall into the trap this way. Thus, in a sense, one could say that cannabis is used as a bait-and-switch, and this is its social danger. Probably, legalizing it would result in fewer references in the black market, taking away from the predators one of the means of initiation. Regarding alcohol and cigarettes, I can agree; I remember that over time, from a pharmacological point of view, cannabis can also cause very nasty effects like memory loss and attention deficits. However, it's difficult to obtain accurate statistics since the consumption of alcohol and tobacco is significantly higher than that of cannabinoids, so this also reflects on the numbers regarding harm.

Well, since no one has succeeded yet, I'll try to engage calmly with Brother Duane, because I believe it’s about him... Now, I don’t know your personal story, and I don't know what the purpose of the various comments in recent days has been, mostly directed at the metal scene, whether they stem from an attempt to provoke or if you truly believe that the music in question is solely filled with vile content aimed at contesting the Catholic religion, of which I believe you are a follower (and no one contests this legitimate choice, by the way). I don’t want to know what your real motivation is; you know it, and it doesn’t matter to me. However, what I want to civilly contest is your attitude of shooting down arguments without offering any counterpoint. The thing is, you come here with your strong statements, and then when asked for explanations, you digress and further amplify your absolutisms. You see, since I don’t believe this world is black or white but that there are many shades, I also think that the attitude of many atheists here in Italy is to contest the Catholic religion much more than the others. But don’t you think this is due to the fact that it’s a faith with which those who have a different ethical view of life must confront themselves daily in this nation? After all, the entire debate on Dico, euthanasia, and assisted reproduction has, in Italy, the Catholic world as its counterpart, not the Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, etc. worlds. Therefore, it’s normal that the finger points in that direction, and consequently, so do the deplorable extremes, which unfortunately exist in both directions, as you demonstrate, my friend. I haven’t read AlessioIride’s remarks because, with all due respect, I think the user in question is a young guy with some confusion about certain ideas and therefore tends to be extreme, and that’s forgivable while waiting for a maturation that will surely occur. I think the same of you, but the difference is that after being pointed out that certain behaviors were bothersome, he decisively toned it down, whereas you did the opposite, and this, let me say, is a lack of respect. You call it a lack of democracy, but it’s not because starting to call someone an idiot just because they’ve said that certain of your behaviors make them uncomfortable (it happened with me, remember?) isn’t freedom of speech—it’s an offense. And since you have repeated this behavior with everyone who crossed your path, someone got fed up and banned you, and rightly so, in my opinion, because, in my view, democracy is not anarchy, as many believe here, but civil debate and dialogue, and with you, it was very, very, very difficult to conduct these because at the slightest dissent, you would start with insults and other similar things. Goodbye.

No, you shouldn't feel controlled; it's the first time I've done something like this and it will also be the last. I was just joking about putting you to the test; my intention was to show you how sometimes certain absolutist discussions can be annoying... Anyway, the advice is this: if you can, never offend, at least not first, because I was joking, but there are many here who are definitely more serious than I am in fake games, I hope you get what I mean... Bye and sorry again!

@Lux: I'm cptgaio with another nick (it's not my fake, I created it many months ago during a fun time with Puni and Isi, feel free to check the comment thread to understand, and I will only use it to intervene a few times until my final resurrection; it might seem strange, but I take the Internet as a game). I was the one "one sad," I know it may seem rude to you, but I did it just to test you a bit and see how you reacted to free provocations (those to Duane weren't free, and I'm glad he got banned; I associated you with him to put you even more in difficulty..). I must say you handled it great and that you're an interesting guy. I apologize if this bothered you, but I repeat, the Internet is a game, and we all are fakes of ourselves. From this perspective, you might understand why I said certain things like "cptgaio." I hope you'll forgive me for this little joke, but as you can see, I didn't drag it out for long... Friends?
