But Lux, do you really think one is worse than the other? My God! Honestly, Prog metal and Power Metal don't excite me either, but you can't just dismiss them like that. It's incredible to think how, being genres far from catchy, they have gained such popularity without the help of the media (and in my opinion based on decidedly musical parameters rather than environmental or cultural ones); they are worth studying just for this. As for the Maiden, even there, thinking they've only influenced Power and Prog Metal is limiting. The Maiden, after all, are Metal (along with another 3-4 bands, Metallica and Judas foremost). I really can't understand this hostility (because, to me, that's what it is). Then, regarding artistic quality, I'll skip the discussion because it seems we have too divergent opinions. Bye!

You are strange and intriguing, I mean I would almost like to slap you for a review like that (metaphorically speaking of course, I am for non-violence) but it is clear (reading other things you’ve left so far among comments and reviews) that you are “playing” (and quite well) the role of the destabilizer. I don’t want to judge you for this because you probably have your reasons (by the way, I must recognize your considerable dialectical skills), and most likely when I was still a newcomer and you someone else (if I’m wrong I will make a public amendment), we have already crossed paths on these pages.
Speaking of music, I don’t know this group, but I will frankly tell you that I'm starting to get tired of reviews that make comparisons between incompatible genres (honestly, I don’t understand the need to bring up Dinosaur Jr., who I actually like a lot, or Nico, who I like decidedly less, just to throw dirt on something that, in this case, without having listened to it, has little to do with it, almost to play the part of someone who listens to “cultured” music (and unfortunately, due to some critics, even the likable Dinosaur are facing this “fate”) in opposition to the rest of the world made up of shallow or even ignorant people. Now, I’m not saying this attitude belongs to you, but reading between the lines, this might appear. I prefer to think of you as a clever and likable provocateur (in the “intelligent” sense of the term). I say all this obviously with no polemical intent. Bye!
