One of the greatest bands of the last 30 years, and I certainly don't need to be the one to say it. For their incredible talent in weaving unforgettable melodies ("Shiny Happy People" is perfect pop), for the extraordinary simplicity and sincerity of their proposal, and for Stipe's enchanting voice, no amount of compliments would suffice. I firmly believe that this is their peak. Just as I firmly believe that "Monster" is the only major misstep of this glorious band. P.S. Stipe, have you heard the new songs? "Living Well's The Best Revenge" is fantastic!!!

You know, Fidia, I'm the kind of person who has very varied and different tastes (yesterday, while sunbathing at the beach, I went from Babyshambles to King Crimson in the span of an hour...) but I still believe that each of us should talk about what we really know well. If I had to review an album, I don't know, by Gogol Bordello, I would do it too, but it would remain something done with little passion and, above all, little competence (since, in my opinion, you write with your heart as well as your head). Meanwhile, I have the impression that certain people deal with things in a not very competent way just to seem more "cool" or musically educated. I absolutely love Brit music and I review it, but of course I listen to many other things as well. Bye.

Yours, more than a review, is a clear invective against certain attitudes from many people who tend to "disregard" the new releases from famous and established bands (whether it's because they appeal to "teen girls" - I swear I've seen fourteen-year-olds wearing Joy Division shirts, so what? - or because they are "sellouts" just for having surpassed a million copies sold - according to this reasoning, they are rubbish: Radiohead, the very Joy Division, Queen, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and you know how many I'm forgetting, while they are instead wildly celebrated, as my friend Sfascia says - or because they no longer do the "things of the past," which in fact falls within the artistic evolution of a band). The Pumpkins fit perfectly into this profile. And this album, which is not at the same qualitative levels as Mellon Collie and Gish (I agree on this, it's not a one-star album. For me, this is the resurrection of Corgan, who may not be the same as before, but has certainly found the right path again. De gustibus. And "United States" is among the best tracks released in the last three years.

Review (oh, is it a review?) incredibly bad, perhaps the worst of the century. In my opinion, Liam slept with your sister (or your woman). Repressed hate.
