Agreed with you. Worse than the debut, but better than Room On Fire.

The 5 I gave to The Colour in the last review was given "out of anger" (due to the unjustified critique from the reviewer with whom I disagreed), but actually, I consider it a four-star album. Let's just say I had a bit of a meltdown! :D

Pourqoipas, you're right, I exaggerated by slapping the term masterpiece on T.C.A.T.S., but for me, Nevermind remains an album that deserves four stars more for historical-musical reasons, as my friend senmayan rightly points out above. Let's say I should have said: "The Colour And the Shape" is the masterpiece of the Foo Fighters, which doesn't exactly mean masterpiece in the absolute sense. Sometimes I express myself incompletely. Thank you for the clarification.

I completely share your analysis. With Nirvana, as with other fundamental groups in the history of rock, there tends to be an exaggeration: either crap or fine chocolate. The truth, as is the case in ninety percent of situations, lies in between. They certainly weren’t crap, but musically, as you analyzed well, they didn’t invent anything. That said, feel free to tear me apart, but I find that "Nevermind" is NOT their masterpiece, and "Smells..." is definitely not their best song. If we want to talk about how important this album was symbolically and ideologically, well, that's a different discussion. MUSICIALLY, it's a great album, but in my opinion, not a masterpiece. Again, great job.

Thank you, Alessio. I don't think the album is for you; Argos' British accent might make you feel a surge of bile... :D
