The Velvet Underground White Light/White Heat

One of the most beautiful albums in the history of rock. Agreed on Sister Ray, masterful.

@NathanAdler77; I haven't listened to it, but I read an accurate description in Rolling Stone, and starting Tuesday, the new single "Violet Hill" is available on the official website (it seems like a rather bluesy piece introduced by an electric guitar), chosen at the last moment instead of "47". We'll see. @Alessio: you're right, it's a beautiful bullshit not to mention the Joy Division. Unfortunately, I'm "known" for being careless and forgetful, so nothing new under the sun. :)
Semisonic Feeling Strangely Fine

AAAAAAAAh Semisonic. I remember. A couple of smash-hit singles and then utter darkness.

@ 47; yeah, I know, heh heh. As for "prolific," I wrote it thinking about the past as well, not just the last few years, and anyway the Oasis (whom I appreciate unlike many here) are just the tip of the iceberg. Many bands come from Manchester that play genres that are also completely different (Nine Black Alps, Amplifier - fantastic! -, Doves, Elbow, I Am Kloot, Jim Noir, Starsailor, Van Der Graaf Generator etc. those are the ones that come to mind). @ Dallas: from how you write "càata," it sounds like you're from my part of the world... :D. I have the feeling that the new Coldplay will amaze many...
Piero Pelù Fenomeni
Voto:
The most inspired solo work by Pelù is undoubtedly "In Faccia." Then, just scattered pieces here and there.
The La's The La's

There She Goes is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful pop songs of all time.
Counting Crows Films About Ghosts
Voto:
Beautiful. Can someone review the new one, please? I'm curious...

By the way, the new album comes out on the same day as "Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends" by Coldplay; a nice challenge. They'll come out shattered, but who cares.

For everyone, here is the link to the new single: For me, it's stunning, powerful, like a Feeling A Moment written seven years earlier. I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

Hey there, sorry for the delay! Great analysis, really. Well, the "similarity" between JTWIF and Wonderwall is audible, especially in the intro, which is pretty much IDENTICAL. As for the new album, the title is Silent Cry and the first official single (after the appetizer Miss You) will be We Are The People. It should be a blend of the rock from the early works and the melodic shift of the last two albums.
