Yes Mien, maybe you're right... eh eh... :) British-windy-cod fisherman is Oscar-worthy.

Hugoniot, of course, are not identical, but in many sounds and in a certain attitude in composing the pieces, they resemble Bono's band quite a lot. "Is It Any Wonder?" you've surely heard it; well, take that as an example...

"It’s a bittersweet symphony this life"
that tries to make extremes coincide
that makes you a slave to money and then die
I'll take you on the only road I have ever traveled
you know, the one that leads you to the places where
everything is found."

Thank you for the report, Mr. Gallagher. I will lend an ear.

One, would the text of Bittersweet be mediocre? But have you read (or listened to) it all? Of course, if you stop at the first sentence... And then that's it!!! The music of third-rate is something else. At this point, I agree with Hugoniot: if it had sold 100 copies by now, you would be shouting masterpiece.

At Oceansize: 1-If I thought it was mediocre, I would give it 2, not 3. And then, is it forbidden to review an album you consider mediocre? What is this, off-limits too? 2-This story about duplicates is getting old; there are two camps: those who don’t mind and those who don’t want them. Let's say I belong to the first camp because I believe that a site like this is great precisely because everyone can share their opinion.

It's been 5 years, indeed. An absolute masterpiece, which has less to do with Britpop than one might think. "Bittersweet Symphony" is a pinnacle of pop in the last 30 years. "The Drugs Don't Work," "Sonnet," "Lucky Man" are now classics, while the rest of the album ranges from solid quality to pure excellence. There’s not a slip in style, McCabe is in great shape, Ashcroft at his historical peak. For me, it edges towards perfection.

Of course it was "You can call me by my first name," I messed up, darn it...

Miss Silvani: "Fantozzi, sit down!" Fantozzi: "Miss, are you addressing me formally?" Miss Silvani: "No, it's the subjunctive!" - I don’t remember in which movie it is, but it's the best line ever!!!

I've always considered Fantozzi a dramatic film. And a tremendous masterpiece. Villaggio at his historical peak.
