Sorry Alessio, I thought you knew almost everything about hardcore and punk, and then you ask how to categorize punk and hardcore bands... MAH! Anyway, pretazzo answered you well, but I'll give you a little list as well... punk: Damned, Buzzcocks, Rancid, New Bomb Turks. Hardcore: Gorilla Biscuits, NOFX, Poison Idea, Refused... the difference lies in the length, the speed, and the vocals (either super fast or shouted). Naturally, there are thousands of subgenres that I'm not going to categorize for you...

Pretazzo, I would marry you... anyway, I blast Minor Threat until my ears are numb, but I must say that listening to songs like "Sweet Child O' Mine" is always a pleasure... I don't lean towards any thoughts, neither the drugged-out ones from Slash and company nor those from our beloved Ian. Honestly, how many of you can go without drinking alcohol or having casual hook-ups with a gorgeous girl who happens to come your way... now, why should I not listen to Minor Threat just because of this? There's no debate about it; I really appreciate what Ian does and what he has managed to achieve, but that doesn't mean I have to be like him just because I listen to his music...

But do you think someone who wants to learn about straight edge will go looking for it in my review? I don't think so; the review talks about the best punk EP ever released, and in my opinion, it conveys well the idea that this is a masterpiece... I also believe that a kid who knows nothing about music, upon reading the review, would be encouraged to learn more about Minor, I hope I've made the idea clear.
