it's not a review and I don't even like reviews. they are, in the end, thoughts spoken aloud set to the rhythm of this beautiful record, my favorite by Shellac, sad and misanthropic like few albums in history, leaving you emotionally like a 12-year-old in 1992 in front of Luke Perry: ecstatic. that's all: you can't write about music and especially you can't talk about the feelings it invokes in you... so I tried to pique people's curiosity since when you're sad you need music that's even sadder than you, and when you feel like a fucking serial killer you need an album that would make even a little lamb look like Pappalardo...

ah...if you’re talking about the Huskers from the first period, that's one thing; if you’re talking about the ones after Metal Circus, that's a whole different story...anyway, between the two groups, incomparable obviously, I also prefer the Huskers for life :)

He has been an influential guitarist for three-chord guitarists, like Cobain, focusing on songs more than on the little things to put in them… oh, so Husker Du are no longer a melodic band? Let's put it this way… let’s feed the concepts. If I say Husker Du, what do you think of? Phantasmagoric solos or beautiful songs and gorgeous melodies?

neu, you really don't like Italian, do you!?! anyway, I'm not taking lessons from you... I grew up with the husker and surely it's not up to you to explain them to me, and then what would there be to explain in music? anyway, most people in the husker look for nice melodies, which isn't a bad thing, like a fiery fart on your hair... on the contrary, it's a beautiful thing, a quality for a band, especially for a hardcore group. ever heard of warehouse? damn, how hard and barren it is in melodies... it almost sounds like a neubauten record, pure avant-garde I would say.

I didn't explain myself well at all. What I meant was: usually, those who don’t play tend to exalt things that, normally, those who do know would snub or see more distantly. For me, the Huskers are fundamental for songwriting and not for technique. In short, my opinion is that as musicians they are nothing special. I see the last track of Zen Arcade as a simple game, one of those things you do when you have some time to spare in the rehearsal room and not as a real song, but perhaps my attitude is dictated by what I look for in the Huskers, and in the Huskers, for God's sake, I seek beautiful, rounded, and reasonable melodies.

And we understood that you can't even tune a guitar. One thing is to talk to us about music, another is to do technically tough things in the song structure... it's better to play music than to talk about it. I can understand that we are discussing songwriting and there mould is a great, but if we talk about instrumentalists... well, certainly we are not in front of Denison.
