yeah... it's been a while since I listened to the Doors, but I'm in a mood for digging up old stuff... I even listened to Ten again today: same impression as five years ago... a crap album. anyway, it's the imperfection that creates the charm, but I'm not objective... all my favorite albums sound like shit :)

The stereotype that Neapolitans love Totò and similar stuff... it's not true: I'm not a big fan, and none of the people I know go crazy for Totò or other phenomena of Neapolitan culture, which I hate and don't appreciate. So, what you say isn't true, and the same goes for Gigi D'Alessio: I know many more people obsessed with Gigi D'Alessio in the north or in Calabria than in Naples... obviously, I'm a selective type. Ah, Mad Season suck... everything that smells of Pearl Jam sucks.

Objectively, Totò has his value, but subjectively I prefer Paolo Villaggio, and not by a little... The problem with Totò is which Totò to appreciate: the one from the despicable little films that a foolish intelligence tries to reevaluate, or the one from Uccellacci e Uccellini? Perhaps too inflated... Then there's the wonderful signorstereotipohugoniot... We Neapolitans usually watch Totò while eating pizza, scratching our butts, not a Beretta still smoking from the last mugging.

I really like Van Sant, even when he's subdued... in short, I disagree with him even when he's right :) @supersoul and paloz... do you like Last Days? I do, but it's generally considered a lesser film, of course, compared to Elephant... however, I think it addresses a topic and a character in a way that's anything but obvious, without speculating.
