I've only listened to the Japanese version of "smile"... how does it differ from the US one? Is it fair to say it's fucking censorship?

They are coming on June 13 and 27 to Naples and province (specifically Scisciano) and on August 31 to Caserta. I will obviously be at all three... I mean: I went to Pescara to see them... in Rome and then I won't go when they play at home? The brave Autopilot (another Neapolitan devoted to ROCK) will definitely be with me, I believe. In short, it can happen, it can happen :)

Well, maybe I’m exaggerating a bit, but I don’t think so. Shellac and Steve Albini have a value that goes beyond what any band can have because: (1) Steve Albini is OBJECTIVELY the best sound engineer in the world, and in this role, he has worked on some of the most important rock albums. (2) Because Albini has changed the face of independent rock three times with three different bands. (3) Because Shellac, beyond their aesthetic value (which is pretty good), have a conceptual value that is truly original... I mean, creating a rock band with the bare minimum in terms of instrumentation and music takes you beyond; potentially, one could make a song with just one chord. I think of "Didn't We Deserve a Look At You The Way You Really Are," from Terraform (their weakest album), which, in an irregular time signature, repeats the same three-note sequence for over twelve minutes. Just bass and drums, a bit of voice, and some chords. Said like this, it sounds like crap, and you might think, "I could do that too," but it’s not that simple—it’s a bit like any piece of conceptual or modern art that makes you feel it’s a scam. See, rock is always played using ancient patterns according to models that are now saturated. Shellac are the only ones who have carved out their own path (not necessarily discontinuous with the past), expanding on what has already been created and traversed. That said, I feel a bit ashamed because I’m making a comparison to Scaruffi, and everything seems to point to that. Then they get on stage to set up their instruments by themselves, and you realize that, in reality, it’s just rock. SERIOUS ROCK!

Finnegan, are you from Naples too? Right right? We should do a census!

mmm... I would like to see Il Compagno by Cesare Pavese on the screen, but I'm afraid: they might turn it into a tear-jerking drama and (my) guts.

They did it, they did it, and they always carry a spare strap... brutal, come on, don’t be beastly: join the "Steve's Squeezer" club... many doors will open for you (like in all lobby systems). oleE, Vienna is stunning and if it seems so beautiful to me (an unnecessary adjective, but in this case, it’s obligatory) it’s also thanks to Andrea, who is none other than Uxo... but don’t tell him that Shellac don’t play Metal. He is convinced, I don’t know why, that I went to a Metal concert and I would have liked to agree with him since I missed Boris in Vienna by just one fucking day... whatever. Ah, the new Shellac record is perhaps the most conceptual one they’ve made. Hard to digest, but once it gets into your system, it’s worth exactly as much as the others, and that’s no small feat.

wait wait... you say that Ed Crane has it better? I really don’t think so. They screw his wife and get her pregnant, they beat him up, he doesn't see the money he invests, they accuse him of a murder he didn't commit... no, Ed Crane is worse off. :)

I too am Neapolitan ;) I want to say that loving Schiele is one thing, loving Forattini is another (assuming it’s even possible to love Forattini), and those who love Forattini would never dream of saying they are better than Schiele simply because one (Schiele) is an artist and the other is an honest worker. Then regarding the fact that Manuel Agnelli is an honest worker... well, there's a lot to discuss because to me this album sounds very opportunistic, like really a lot, and it baffles me that no one says it. Everyone talks about the artistic value (?) and it really seems like a load of crap to me. Whether it’s good or bad, this album is opportunistic, and to the one here talking who says he doesn’t know the Dinosaur: my friend, what the hell are you doing? You’re wasting your life. Leave the games aside and move on to serious stuff because you never know where you’ll end up :) It’s just a friendly advice for a laugh, don’t take it as an offense.

What the fuck kind of bullshit talks are these? The day Agnelli is worth as much as any pubic hair of J Mascis, you might be able to remotely compare them. For now, they are traveling on two different planets like Maradona and Pasquale Bruno.
