I agree with ZannaB about Richards' consistency, who is also mourning the death of his elderly mother.

I don’t find anything scandalous in making covers either, but 40 years ago, few sought information on the authorship of the pieces, so it was enough to find an appealing track by an English or American band mostly unknown in Italy, and the game was on. The list of Italian BEAT groups that had huge success with little effort is long... including CORVI. Things changed a bit when a decade later, bands like P.F.M., ORME, BANCO, etc. appeared in the music scene.

.. so you would be certain that without the record labels' imposition, the Corvi could have written interesting things like those copied from Donovan, Kinks, Cher, Electric Prunes..? Just your beliefs though, no confirmations.

Italianizing and ridiculing American and English songs was something everyone did back then, from Dino to the Camaleonti, from Equipe84 to Dik Dik.. these Corvi, like everyone else, were shamelessly borrowing from foreign hits and taking credit for them.. clowns like the reviewer.

I have two CDs by these gentlemen, I don't know how they ended up among my records... who knows, I'll give them to someone.
The Beatles Anthology 1

It must be admitted that this album isn’t the best of the quartet's production since..White Album, Abbey Road, Revolver, Pepper, Rubber Soul, they achieved nearly five-star averages, on Debaser it’s considered a success, as you know here there are plenty of snobbish connoisseurs..

it doesn't seem to me at all...

If the poor David were to read this review, he would become even more disheartened... too many times "poor," he hasn't been as lucky as his brother, it happens.

Sorry sirbony@, I wasn't talking about Paul McCartney's masterpieces, which I don't question; I was referring to the "little old lady songs" (a term used by Lennon to mock that genre) that only he loved to make, that is to say that "vaudeville" with which, without excessive creative effort (I believe), he filled every Beatles album... but my doubt was: did he just fill the gaps or did he mainly take space away from Harrison?
