...especially right now as we mourn a DeBaserian who is no longer with us, then... Why not also say that Corey5's death is for the benefit of the pimple-faced teenagers reading the pages of DeBaser while you’re at it?

And then, since I've gone through being a spinster myself, I want you to reread what you've written: "someone like Alexakis, a puppet of the majors with his stories of a junkie for the consumption of pimple-faced Nirvana orphans." I would like to point out that at just twelve years old, young Alexakis (who grew up in a family abandoned by his father when he was an infant) witnessed his older brother die of an overdose. This was his childhood. I would think twice about saying that his story was something trivial to be served up for the consumption of kids, because kids haven't experienced what Alexakis went through as a child. A little respect for life and death, come on.

On the contrary, your BUSH had no past, no background, nothing at all... and then razorblade suitcase is just plain awful even as a grunge-clone album. It’s not just a clone, but a bad clone. I remember the Rolling Stone cover that said “Why nobody takes Gavin Rossdale seriously?” with Rossdale half-naked on a bed with a paramedic blanket and wallpaper that you could only see in a fake-grunge music video set... The BECAUSE to that WHY was all right there: Rossdale's pretty face, his mannequin physique, his poses, the blanket too perfect, the wallpaper too perfect, the riffs too perfect, the voice too perfectly aligned to standards that someone else (and definitely not him) imposed as perfect for the time. And his songs: fake like him. And stupid. I remember how the Smashing Pumpkins mocked him by saying that with "swallowed" Rossdale was admitting to being someone who gives blowjobs with swallowing :)

I also did like Oceansize, stating that the album is catchy but super derivative... I did it not on this album, but on the Catherine Wheel album "HAPPY DAYS," which I gave 3 stars. But this WORLD OF NOISE is not a grunge copycat album... the following ones were, BUT NOT THIS ONE. This was a template for everything that gave birth to grunge. If Everclear had continued down this path, they would have remained a GRUNGE band, BECAUSE THIS, FOR ITS SOUND AND PURPOSE, WAS THE DEBUT OF A GRUNGE BAND. Then, rather than venturing on their own path, Alexakis chose to follow those laid down by other artists, which I personally imagine has little to do with art. I PUT EVERCLEAR ON THE SAME LEVEL NOT WITH NIRVANA BUT WITH MUDHONEY OR GREEN RIVER. I wouldn’t dream of comparing them to the Nirvana of Nevermind but with those of BLEACH, which was a derivative and old record from a band that had not yet found its style. They did find it in Nevermind (and then the majors republished BLEACH to capitalize on it, much like what happened with this WORLD OF NOISE). Everclear never found their signature after this debut, but up until the debut, they were derivative, just as the Nirvana of BLEACH and garage-punk could be, like many others straddling the late '80s and early '90s.

If you feel like advancing comments and viewpoints, you are and will always be welcome for me. If you need to criticize my point of view, do it if you know you can be credible. And in general, please propose yourself without pretending to be the expert with me: people like Supersoul can afford it. You, I regret to admit, cannot.

With all due respect, I can't understand what the hell Oceansize wants who reviewed "Razorblade Suitcase" by BUSH giving it 3 stars. This by Everclear is a debut album, rough, without Steve Albini making everything sound super radio-friendly, by a Californian and not some English guy who played for Chelsea like Rossdale. Alexakis practically played it all by himself with a broken guitar, it cost him 400 dollars, and if it hadn't been artistically coherent with himself, he would have just sold as many copies as necessary to recover those 400 dollars. This is Everclear's least commercial album, the least suitable for the ears of people who would give three stars to Bush. Oceansize, take a look in the mirror before criticizing others, and keep singing Swallowed...

I know the haters (and maybe I'll write about them, unless you want to delve into it first), while I lack all the rest, but that's a matter of superficiality: I would have never, listening to the Haters, bet that Wood the second would continue to make music :)

I adore them, also because Anderson didn't rebel at all against his destiny: a fabulously pompous glam gay, feigning unawareness in the beginning, nostalgically mature and in love with himself, minimal-black, and then an effective mannerist glam in Head Music (with nothing more to say).

alessioiride, I don't understand what you're complaining about if they go on TV to talk about love with a capital L discussing a relationship between a young girl and an adult: Costanzo and De Filippi is not gerontophilia mistaken for love? The affair with Paolo Limiti (which could also be for citizenship), if it took place, wasn't it gerontophilia? Paternostro with Di Dietro, what was that? Serena Grandi with Beppe Ercole? Ludovica Andreoni and Luca di Montezemolo, Enrica and Michelangelo Antonioni, Patrizia Baldi and Claudio Villa, Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg, Mara Bugni and Giorgio Strehler, Licia Colò and Nicola Pietrangeli, Gaia De Laurentiis and Fabrizio Ghia, Celine Dion and Rene Angelil, Curzxia Ferrari and Salvatore Quasimodo, Gloria Guida and Johnny Dorelli, Veronica Lario and Silvio Berlusconi, Loredana Lecciso and Albano, Carmen Llera and Alberto Moravia, Sophia Loren and Carlo Ponti, Janira Majello and Luca Sardella, Nicoletta Mantovani and Luciano Pavarotti, Denny Mendez and Paolo Mazzaglia, Nella Mirone and Giuseppe Ungaretti, Rita Pavone and Teddy Reno, Stefania Prestigiacomo and Angelo Bellucci, Luana Ravegnini and Claudio Lippi, Francesca Rettondini and Alberto Castagna, Sso Yi and Woody Allen, Annie Vivanti and Giosuè Carducci, Morena Zapparole and Gianfranco Funari, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, Daniela Zuccoli and Mike Bongiorno... There may be an interest in money, power, and fame... but at the heart of it all, in my opinion, there's only one thing: gerontophilia.

I will be grateful to Moccia when I become, thanks to this little brat of a film, a nice bunch of seventeen-year-olds. From now on, I will always walk around with my jacket and my shirt with the last button undone and my tie loosened...
