Il_Paolo, I wasn't directly referring to you, but directly to Bobby Solo: why doesn't he go in search of personal happiness in the USA, where it's possible to step outside in that fringed jacket?

Here, you will find a review of each of their albums. Enjoy your reading!

Is the killer restless? He seems too calm for the job he does. And that's his strength. But then does his wife get killed? With all the noise in the cinema, I didn’t hear the shot from the rifle, which was also silenced. I like Fargo twice as much; maybe it’s because Eve is less exploited than the desert... or maybe it's because I find the unawareness of the pregnant sheriff much more comedic and effective than the misunderstood hyper-clarity of Sheriff Tommy Lee Jones (who, by the way, directed and starred in a great film on this genre titled "The Three Burials"). Do you think it’s right to talk about modern westerns in these cases? Or is pulp taken less seriously?

I can't understand what's wrong with moving to America, given that everything about you talks about America. What's wrong with doing like Terence Hill (apart from never coming back to do priest fictions)? I, after Javier Bardem, am almost about to go become a psychopath in Texas.

Pulling out the principles of the sunset is even worse than saying you’ve taken a quote from Severgnini. Not that it’s not a well-argued book, it’s clear, but it’s tight and aimed at a single objective, albeit (poorly) disguised with a veneer of false goodwill that says "rock isn’t bad in itself"... Stuff for the DC, stuff for Gianni Rivera... At this point, why not quote Socci or Cecilia Gatto Trocchi? At least they are more sincere and expose themselves in their fundamentalist democristianity.

she was a force, something original in an overly trodden path. the good music of the Pretenders would have been nothing without Hynde, her verve, her strangeness... then, as they normalized, even the Pretenders faded away. Of course, being Jim Kerr's wife... someone whose ideal woman was Patsy Kensit, beautiful blonde and silent... poor Chrissie, what a masochistic choice!

I don't understand why you would invite that Forza Italia supporter Ruggeri, who then sings "we don't make the revolution, television told us so": but how! What the hell! You specifically invite Ruggeri, the Milanese Forza Italia supporter, former chansonnier and ex-ex-rebel, the very one who goes on to be a serious host of Mediaset-type formats? It's like if I took Mastella and had him write La Casta.

I also don't believe that Italian pop has undergone significant evolutions. The evolution, if anything, has been of the Italian pop artists: incredibly arrogant, all grandiose, immeasurable masters, all getting angry like Toto Cutugno, all striking poses because they won a gold record in Russia among the underdeveloped in the countryside, or because they sing "Nel Sole" with the philharmonic orchestra of Pristina or Beirut. All of them act like singers who are essential to life; the Zarrillos, who, just because they have graying hair and a song a year to send to the tenth place in Sanremo, think they are masters of Italian songwriting... In short, no one who takes themselves a little less seriously and finally admits to being a freak of miracle.

Regardless of how it turned out, the Devo were a great band, indisputably.
