In the eighties, up until "Into the Fire," I liked him. He was contextualized, he was in his habitat, the rockers were like him. The rockers, not the metalheads. The metalheads were like Bon Jovi and the rockers were like him (mamma mia!!!) but Bon Jovi has always made me cringe, before and after the eighties, while he, in the eighties, I somewhat liked, after all, for an easy listening pop rock. From "Waking Up" onwards... zero. Only this and the last "Room Service," not super inspired but full of energy post-live performances.

Ah, why are Watts and Jahansson not the same person? I thought the new American movie starlets were the same person with different names depending on their hair color. Or, at most, something akin to Anita Blond and Anita Dark in porn.

that music festival is the shittiest in Europe and the whole world. The very fact that it’s sponsored reeks of crap, kind of like the Serie A Tim. Can you imagine Glastonbury in England becoming the Tennent's, or the Vodafone Premier League? Bullshit that only happens in Italy. And not to mention the fact that the audience is predominantly scum-Vasco Rossi fans who don’t understand a damn thing about music; otherwise, they wouldn’t go crazy for Vascorreggia.

I prefer her brunette in the assassination of Richard Nixon.

It doesn't take much to make a record better than Echo Park, anyway. Just making catchy pop with mega guitar riffs isn't enough to create a great album. And Echo Park wasn't one. If you take away a few tracks, there's not much left. And to me, Seven Days seems like a load of nonsense, starting with the fact that Nicholas says Maiorca is in the ocean.

Have I told you that you deserve credit for reconciling me with what I hate? I appreciate the skill you show in contextualizing music and artists at a social level (it would be better to say anthropological), describing the strengths, weaknesses, and style missteps of that artistic-musical target and its audience. I hated it because everything in Italy arrives dead, wilted, and the weak currents of the Adriatic do not reinvigorate the pure, monstrous charge of American confidential music; those sixties from seaside rotundas and Roman nightclubs do not replace the browns and yellows of autumnal Old America with more Mediterranean pastel colors, and paved the way for a greyness that even the pseudo-Bristol sound Italian music of the nineties could not (or did not dare, or had the "BONGUSTO" to) propose again. It ended when color TV arrived. I don't hate it anymore, but I vote for it just the same.

I would transcend the controversies and ask the whole world: why review records thanks to TV Sorrisi e Canzoni?

Desade does not understand that I cut down what needs to be cut down and give good ratings to what deserves good ratings. Certainly, my recent reviews have focused on relatively unimportant bands that are generally rightfully forgotten (except for the Gin Blossoms), but DeBaser provides space for everyone, even for those who, for one reason or another, need to tackle something that is already known not to please others who will read it. Call it a "personalistic use of the DeBaserian medium," but that’s precisely what DeBaser is for; otherwise, it would be the Editors dictating which records we should review. I understand being displeased by the presence of certain bands on the homepage, but what Desade forgets is that my reviews, with their ups and downs, are of a certain standard (and no longer have typos), while those of certain self-righteous individuals, like the one on Mel C, are clearly written, but above all, conceived, from the ass.

Ah, but you are the one with the typos? You know, you were right: writing without mistakes is important, when you think about it, they are annoying. So why don’t you just dedicate yourself to correcting others' texts instead of writing your own? You could specialize in errata corrige and be essential for DeBaser. There's nothing to be ashamed of, you know?
Voto:
I would give you zero, but there isn't one. I could just choose not to vote for you, but I have no intention of sparing you a harsh critique because the editors didn't provide for zero. I liked her, and Going Down, although totally fake, wasn't that completely terrible, but the album as a whole is worth little more than your review.
