I had already expressed my disgust in the other review.. Well, I believe that Requiem is a perfectly suitable title not only for this album and for Verdena in general, but for all the Italian musical trends of recent times.. A funeral march, a decomposing carcass..

If the media focus only on certain productions, including musical ones, it’s because 1- this is what people want to see, hear, and experience, and 2- because they themselves are able to convince the vast majority of the audience about what is cool to listen to, what is fun to watch, how to dress better, and so on.. The discourse goes beyond the garbage and its stench. Perhaps the concept is expressed a bit too angrily (although the anger is more than justifiable), but the trouble is that if such films continue to be produced, it means that culture in Italy is suffering from a frightening hemorrhage, which has festered and is oozing more and more.

I believe you did very well to remind us that cinema is not just about 2001: A Space Odyssey, Apocalypse Now, and the like, but there is also the crap; indeed, the crap reigns almost sovereign. And this filthy and deformed mess called Italian cinema is now folded in on itself, catering to the sick and deviant tastes of an ever-growing generation of hopeless idiots, for whom cinema means De Sica and Scamarcio, comedy means Zelig, and so on. Isis, perhaps you operate this way, and I wouldn't be surprised, but personally I believe that an appreciation should be justified as much as a critique. Sycophantic praises are objectively of little use, but bland and shapeless criticisms are mostly irritating.
