A step below the previous Dust and Dreams and the following Rajaz, I personally find it perhaps the least intriguing album by Camel (excluding the "80s" The Single Factor and Stationary Traveller) and at times I even find it boring. I really love the beginning and the ending; in particular, The Our Candle is a true, as you say, gem. I think they will do much better with the next two. I'm sorry, but I didn't like the review: schematic, not very exhaustive, thin and anonymous.

Simpler solos don't mean music of lesser quality or less emotional impact. Simplicity has always been an essential aesthetic benchmark for Camel, and those who know them well have no difficulty noticing that there is a clear continuity between the recent albums and the progressive glories of the past. It makes no sense to talk about an "affront to the past" based on an argument regarding the solos. Taste is subjective, which cannot be contested, but certain statements seem, to say the least, daring. Latimer has aged (melancholy stems from the passing years; the Camel of today are not the same as those of the past), yet I find the guitarist's dedication to his band and the musical coordinates he has never ceased to follow to be nothing short of admirable. Compared to the early albums, this one undoubtedly keeps pace, with an elegance, modernity, and charm that are priceless. And I don't agree with the On A Island effect either, especially since we're talking about an album that I presume sold very little and had no commercial aspirations.

Hi Tinyy. I have other projects on Camel.. I would like to have more time to write.. Speaking of Camel's concepts, in my opinion, the best one is the Nude you reviewed.. See you soon..

Moving and poetic like few others.. The four boys are incredibly talented.. It's dramatic, but some scenes are seriously funny.. Honestly, though, I find the review to be a real petecchia.

I agree with you on the comparison to The Snow Goose. This one is more varied, evocative, diverse; a real hidden gem is The Final Encore, even though all the tracks are anthological. I also hope Andy recovers soon. In my opinion, the review is too schematic and hasty. The Camel, however, are a legend.

Heavy and indigestible as a review, accompanied by a useless chronicle filled with clichés and various inaccuracies (Ripples is not the second track of A Trick Of The Tail, but the sixth; Throwing It All Away is from 1986...). Good live show where, however, the choice of keyboard sounds is often wrong, where the energy sometimes lacks, but in pieces like Carpet Crawlers, the emotion is palpable. I hope that the three of them return to make a studio album.

I started reading it, but I found it poorly written, jumpy and repetitive; I got fed up right away.. You're boring..

I've never listened to it, but I've often heard people talk about it.. It would have been a good opportunity for a less foolish and ungrammatical review..

Good review, even if it's very repetitive. This album is excellent, but I think it's worth more for the individual tracks than as a complete work. Listening to it in its entirety paradoxically doesn't give me the same pleasure that I feel when listening to Fifth Of Firth or The Cinema Show individually. Perhaps because a piece like "The Battle Of Epping Forest" is too difficult and lacks the fairytale quality. Nonetheless, my favorite Genesis album remains Nursery Cryme, part 1.
