Quentin Tarantino Bastardi Senza Gloria

I was disappointed. I've always thought that, starting from Kill Bill, Tarantino has long been resting on his laurels; the self-references, the allusions, the excess, it all feels a bit worn out. Here he has lost his stride; original story but often weak, exaggerated and predictable twists, poorly developed and inconsistent characters. The emphasis on slaughter and blood splatter here is not delivered with the artisanal "grace" of Kill Bill, and it's rather cloying. The dialogue is no longer the rides of humor it once was. However, Eli Roth is fantastic.

But no one realizes that the cover is an obscene and insulting copy of "Red"? Whatever...
Carlo Marx Friedrich Engels Il Manifesto Del Partito Comunista
Voto:
As I see it, the Manifesto is a fundamental work for Western thought; but it is utopian, unbalanced, and out of touch with reality. While its message may have made some sense at the time it was conceived, that sense has now been distorted, devoured, and digested to create something different and immensely abnormal. Nor could we understand it as it was originally. In any case, it has been the prelude to an unprecedented historical deception; what is the promise of equality and social justice if not an instrumentum regni worse than religion? On the other hand, Lenin himself admitted that without hierarchy there is no society, and hierarchy is, by definition, inequality. The charm of this book lies in its rhetoric, its aggressiveness, and its expressive genius; it must be said that the Manifesto is a commissioned work, and perhaps what has become of its ideas is not exactly what Marx would have wanted. A pathetic and pompous review, even if some ideas are at least partially shareable.

What an act of (stupid) courage... I'll come back tomorrow for a more detailed comment; for now, have a good evening.
Oliver Stone Platoon

In my opinion, it is precisely the inclusion of such sensationalistic (and, in my view, very artificial) action scenes that causes the film to lose coherence and cohesion. A good product, without a doubt, but I have never been much of a fan of Stone; too militant and blinded, and a bit hypocritical as well. Much better are Full Metal Jacket and Apocalypse Now. I agree on "A Clockwork Orange," and among the films that I consider excellent yet overrated, I also include "The Shining," much to the chagrin of the purists.

In the first lines, I think you're getting a bit too excited. You're quite boring. I find that Tarantino is very, very clever; he has created his own character, he quotes and justifies himself in everything, and he always manages to get through whatever he does. However, there's no denying that he's an unmatched master of dialogue. I can't say anything about the movie I haven't seen yet, but it definitely intrigues me.

Very well done. Reviewing crap is a true delight. I tried it with Alex L'Ariete, and besides the results, I had a blast. I've always said: if we put so much effort into describing what we like, why not do the same with the obscene? This is a character that personally makes me long for the ancient practice of gladiatorial games. Him in his underwear against a couple of hungry bears, why not..
