I haven't heard the album, but they have never impressed me much, actually... I think Wolfmother are solid; not that they’re mind-blowing, but they seem a lot better than Jet to me. Then again, it’s a matter of taste, right? I’m not really fond of the review either; it feels a bit empty and superficial.

There's always a turning point; you can't get stuck on styles or sounds that have already been tried. I also prefer Negrita and XXX to this, but when I see them live, there's no denying it: they always make up for everything! The rating is for the 4 concerts I've seen: UNSTOPPABLE! The track-by-track review isn't that appealing, even if this one is much better than others...

I don't have this, but since the previous Quartet left me quite perplexed, I don't think I'll buy it. I agree with what you write; Pat hasn't always gifted us true masterpieces, but damn, Pat is always Pat, I can't fault him for that. I don't want to be mistaken, but I believe that monster of a guitar he has is called "Pikasso" with a K, though that changes very little. Exhaustive and very engaging review, well done!

Well Coelum, I am from Rimini and in my trusted record store I find Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Marilyn Manson, but for PT you either have to order something or settle for a miserable best of... I know they have a good following in Rome; I think that's why it's so easy to find their records, but if you change area, they're neither widespread nor that well-known...

Sorry lux, I messed up with the vote... the fact that Wilson is often described as a genius is true, but I don’t see all this veneration for the PT, I only see a few people who appreciate a group they consider very valid and who try to get others to appreciate it too (perhaps with a bit of insistence and without considering that tastes differ...)
PS: I don't like Zanna very much... you know, I'm a man...

Hi lux. I discovered PT right on Debaser and for now I only have Signify, and given how much it captivated me, I was thinking of getting some more, since they are so acclaimed that record stores are full of their albums... Look, I don’t see them as overrated, I couldn’t find one, I mean not even one person who knew them. If someone passed you Deadwing saying it was a masterpiece, you can’t turn it into a national issue. My grandmother adores Celentano, but I don’t come to Debaser to say that Celentano is overrated and worshipped with blinders by his fans. Anyway, the review wasn’t bad...
