Everything happened about 3 years ago, when I first heard "are you gonna be my girl?" by Jet on the radio, a band that was then hailed as the revelation from Australia, another band of two brothers, fans of their compatriots AC/DC. A few months later, the CD "Get Born" was released, winning many awards thanks to the substantial number of copies sold, both from the album itself and the singles extracted from it.
Amidst a number of breaks, we arrived at 2006, a year in which the Chester brothers, struck by the tragic death of their father, returned to the scene with the anticipated album "Shine On". This LP demonstrated a confirmation of the good quality of the previous one, with a higher number of ballads, alternating with high-energy songs and many inspirations from various artists they adored.
We start with "Holiday", followed by the first single "Put your money where your mouth is", very energetic with the topic of gambling. The essential ballads of this work come around the middle with "King Horses" and "Shine On" (clearly dedicated to the father), followed by another more energetic return with "Come on Come On" (a track clearly inspired by early Oasis) "Stand Up" and "Rip It Up", and a calmer end with "Eleanor" and "All You Have to Do".
In essence, this CD is, in my opinion, the best of the rock scene of 2006, along with Wolfmother and Strokes.
