Miles Davis Relaxin' With Miles Davis Quintet

For me, the first Uxo was fine too... So let's see: following what Setzer said, I'll try Miles Smiles and at the same time (for the earlier discussion about “playing it safe”) Birth Of The Cool and a couple of albums from Prestige... Then a nice jar of citrosodina dissolved in Coca-Cola to help with digestion :-) Thanks burdél, I'll let you know!

You got the idea, Setzer! I think I prefer swingier and more acoustic things, though, since you can't say that the soup isn't good without tasting it, I believe the next purchase will be that one (plus a little something from the Prestige period, just to be on the safe side...). Thank you very much!

@Setzer_Gabbiani: intrusions are always welcome! Maybe I didn't explain myself well: my problem is that I don't know what the things I like are called. For example: "do you like hard-bop?" - "I don't know, I don't even know what it is...". Today I learned that A Kind Of Blue is hard-bop (if I didn't misunderstand), so now at least I know that I like hard-bop. How can the second quintet you recommended be classified? Is it closer to the elegance of AKOB or the restlessness of BB (which, in case it wasn't clear, are my 2 points of reference:-))? Thank you!

I like it! A "silly" review every now and then is fine. I’ve never listened to him, he fascinates me a lot, but the truth is that I’m scared...

Lately, I've reduced my comments on the site due to a lack of time, but for Uxo, I must make time... Excellent as always, my dear! As a near-ignorant in the field, I would kindly ask for some advice: after the shock of Bitches Brew (the first for me from Davis, I hadn't listened to it for months), I bought A Kind Of Blue, which left me, how can I say, very "satisfied." At this point (not being able to distinguish between hard-bop, be-bop, and other genres), what would you recommend as my next purchase?

Thank you for the compliments! Objectivity is nice, but it can get tiring in the long run:-). Exile is a great album, no doubt about it, but (personal tastes) I still prefer Sticky Fingers.. Bye!

You're such a show-off! Now I'm going to look for a reason to fuck off...

Well, it's not certain that this single concert is better than the appearance at LiveAid. Personally, I hope so, but I have many doubts. Regarding the Police, I don't know... Sting (whom I do appreciate) I think is scraping the bottom of the barrel, but I see those three more "in shape" than Plant and his band. I emphasize that this is a personal opinion, but if it were up to me, I might have let it go. Bye!

@there: Led Zeppelin ended in '80, Bonzo isn't coming back, Plant is practically voiceless, and Page seems to play worse than me lately... I'm not paying 180€ to destroy my idols, I'd rather go back to The Song Remains The Same.

I still find interesting reviews. Obviously, they are the minority, but they are still there. For the rest, I agree with Bjorky: I read a lot and comment little. Every now and then I like to take the time to debate (constructively) with someone, but since time is usually scarce, I prefer to spend it reading... Then, if my reading brings new musical knowledge, I might check back later and leave a couple of greetings and a thank you...
