By the way, you must have read Bono's statements in Rolling Stone Italy, I assume.

Let's leave Ale87 alone; someone who says "this is the truth" while speaking is, in my opinion, neither redeemable nor worth considering. To then claim that U2 did not influence musicians in the following years is nothing short of insane. Good luck.

And enough with this talk that "Bono and The Edge made you go through." Maybe we didn't understand each other, in 2006 no one pays attention to artists' statements.

And who’s talking about criticism? Sorry, but if you’re addressing me, don’t take into account the comments of others. We’re not talking about criticism here, but about the enormous impact Achtung Baby had on listeners over the years. But damn, listen to Even Better Than The Real Thing, listen to The Fly, Until the End of the World, Mysterious Ways. Don’t you think those are above-average songs? Well, de gustibus. The fact that Out of Time was judged the best album of '91 matters little to me. I know people who called Oops by Britney Spears the best of its year.

But how the hell can you say that the musical and production aspects are lacking when even musicians and producers wouldn't dare to make such a judgment? There are millions of people who say the opposite. Okay, it's fine for you to think this way; there's freedom of thought. I could dismantle Nirvana in no time, telling you they were anything but great musicians, and Cobain himself said it, just in case it needed to be said, and they were particularly overrated because of Kurt's death, and even stones know that. And the production of Nevermind is even crap, and I say this because you can't polish a grunge album like that. This doesn't bury the thematic importance and musical influence that the album had. I can't stand Area, but I don't come up with pseudo-technical comments to trash them. But then how can you talk about "real melodies" when melodies are purely subjective since the world began? And how can you say you haven't judged based on your personal tastes? Are you a sound technician? Come on, come on...
