2000 - The U2 of the new millennium release a new album since the "Best of Of" had already been done, the soundtrack as well, but it had been three years since they seemed to run out of ideas after the last work "Pop".

An album that, all in all, still keeps the flag high with catchy tracks. "Beautiful Day", for example, can play well and long on the radio but it will never be destined to remain a historic piece of the band, quite the opposite. "Stuck in a moment" (acoustic rearrangement in "7") and "Walk On" are two beautiful ballads interrupted by a track that borders on Disco Music leaving a bad sensation after listening which is "Elevation". The part that subjectively struck me the most was the central part of the album.
Bono finally makes himself heard significantly during "Kite" and The Edge's repetitive riff on "In a little while" echoes in your head throughout the track and if you're not careful you even risk humming it for entire days like an earworm. The guitar sound is very well chosen, at times liquid and at others raw and dirty.

"Wild Honey" is a nice semi-acoustic piece with a compelling rhythm and "Peace On Earth" seems to want to draw the curtain in the best possible way. Yet there are still more tracks, and not really that great, to tell the truth. It indeed seems like going back to the beginning of the CD. "When I Look At The World" could have stayed in Bono's head forever and "New York" adds absolutely nothing new.

"All That You Can't Leave Behind" is a decent album that could take off in some tracks but unfortunately for U2 and especially for their fans, it doesn't. An album that goes fast and smooth in some moments and disappoints in others, an album that after "Grace" is placed among other records, on the shelf labeled "COMMERCIAL STUFF".
