I know both this and ju-ju, and without a doubt the latter is the better of the two. However, apart from a lot of skill, I don't see anything too successful. Overrated.

I see that many haven't understood a damn thing about The Cure. The best Cure is probably found in the songs that the dark fans despise, in the more original and creative ones, in short, in their 'Pop' works (even if any label is limiting), the pop that strangely too many people associate with the crap from the charts that annoys us every summer. Let's put aside the prejudices and remember real pop, like The Beatles, Floyd, Bowie, Smith, and the gang. This album is great, but alongside Pornography and Disintegration, it risks taking a few hits.

this is beautiful. after an uncertain and transitional album like the top (although beautiful and varied), the Cure finally arrive where they wanted to be, that is, at the junction of their pop and 'playful' soul and the dark atmospheres so beloved by Smith. Close to Me is truly stunning, and Sinking gives me goosebumps. Only The Blood leaves me somewhat indifferent.

muddled, immature, and poorly produced. Smith had very little say in the tracks to include; in fact, he later decided to change the tracklist on the album Boys Don't Cry. This one is full of fillers, although it contains at least three of the band's most representative and enduring songs.
