Woody Allen Match Point
Voto:
To say that Allen can't write dialogue is really a big deal. (1 and 3) This is among the best of the director, beyond the NON punishment in this film, because the killer getting away with it is not credible, given the plot. Clearly, Allen cares about Non punishment; he had already addressed it in Crimes and Misdemeanors. I do not agree with Poletti at 39, when he writes that "Crimes and Misdemeanors" has little or nothing to do with it, nor that it's a metaphor between life and tennis; if anything, one can find it when the ball hits the top of the net, a metaphor for the chance or luck that plays a role in our lives.

Listen to the music of the Minutemen: it does good. My favorites are Double Nickels on the Dime and Ballot Result.

Even the story of Noah, mentioned in the Bible, cannot possibly have happened.

These "walking boots" have also bored me a bit, because you find them in any collection from the '60s. Sinatra also had a son who sang well, I believe he met a bad end. The proposition is very interesting as well as instructive. Written wonderfully.

EZEKIEL25_17 if you can't handle the criticism, don't write reviews; by the way, I don't share this one, for example...... Chris left to escape from himself, and he found himself. Does one need to give up oneself to find oneself? ... For me, the film is simply a coming-of-age journey whose main theme is the attainment of self-awareness, which is evident, for example, when his parents want to buy him another car, and he refuses, saying he doesn’t want “things.” Ratings 3 and 4 rounded up.

I think I treated you well, didn't I? They are somewhat similar to my best cinematic works, but you have more command of the language. Even though I'm not "a fifth grader" as a famous Totò said, this has nothing great about it.

Awesome, I think I'll see it again in a couple of days. "Who Will Kill Charlie Varrick" and "Hardcore Henry" I've seen, and it applies the same way as I mentioned for this one. But I couldn't find them on the mule, I probably need to update the servers. Boorman is a great director.

Good review. To share my thoughts, I'll copy and paste a sentence, adding in parentheses how I feel about it, and putting double parentheses around what I would take out. ((If)) the film (does not) work, engages, fascinates ((it’s not so much for)) the convoluted and unlikely plot devised by De Palma and co-writer Robert J. Avrech, but rather for the beauty of the directing choices, (capable of) making even moments that would lend themselves (involuntarily) to more than a few laughs convincing... I rate it 3, rounding up.
