FIQUATA my son, you probably haven't called yourself stupid yet today, so do it so you can bring your feet back to the ground.

Satire is done by Vauro or Crozza, one-sided, but it's satire.

I also believe that satire should cover everything, including politics. But doing an interview like isn't satire; it's just throwing shit at a political opponent. There was nothing caricatural or paradoxical in what they were saying; they were serious. Paradoxical seems to be the word after listening to it again today.

perhaps because when referring to what Cartotto said or quoting phrases from public prosecutor Tescaroli, IT COULD BE UNDERSTOOD that he had enriched himself through criminal methods, in addition to being colluded with the mafia, involved in money laundering operations, and even having met Totò Riina and having helped him in the massacres of Falcone, Borsellino and others, including Maurizio Costanzo. I don’t recall Costanzo ever accusing Berlusconi of his attack. It truly seems to me that these are things that make no sense at all, but that was the impression given while listening to Luttazzi and Travaglio.

I more or less agree with Muffinman. It's also worth noting the point made by Macaco, which is that the political and economic aspect, fundamental to the dynamics of history, has not been grasped.

MIKE76 Even though they are all-around players, I have included Sampras and Federer among the serve and volleyers because they excel at it, on par with McEnroe, Ivanisevic, or Edberg, who were purely serve and volley. I hinted at this back in '76. If it were possible, I think today’s No. 4, Djokovic, would have whitewashed McEnroe, who was No. 1 for many years. But it shouldn't be taken seriously; it's a game, it's like comparing today’s Manchester United to the great Inter from 30-40 years ago. As I have said before, every champion is a champion in their own time.

Sorry, in my haste I made a couple of mistakes. While I'm at it, I'll add Safin to the list of untapped great talents I mentioned in '63.

Sorry, I made a couple of mistakes in my haste to write.

For me, the best serve-and-volley players are McEnroe, Sampras, and Federer, with Federer being the most complete of the three, just a hair above Sampras. Becker and Edberg are a step below. Among the baseliners, the best is Borg, slightly ahead of Nadal and Agassi. Djokovic, Connors, Lendl, Vilas, Courier, and Wilander do not have the class of the others. It must be said that these comparisons are somewhat arbitrary, because every champion is a champion in their own time, and like all sports, tennis has evolved as well.

So let's not forget McEnroe - Borg, who delighted us with amazing matches, then McEnroe - Lendl. The rivalry between serve-and-volley players and baseliners has always fascinated; personally, I've always rooted for the former. I also want to remember at least two of the great talents who ultimately disappointed; the most famous is Ivanisevic, but Andrei Medvedev was, in my opinion, the one with the greatest potential. In the 1999 Roland Garros final, after crushing Sampras and Kuerten, he was treating Agassi the same way... then, something broke, and he lost the last 3 sets. (perhaps the fear of winning)
