The Band is a great group, as is this album. But when you write that Robbie Robertson, Garth Hudson, Rick Danko, Levon Helm, and Richard Manuel debuted on their own after the glorious years spent backing Dylan, you forget to mention that at least four of them cut their teeth playing with Ronnie Hawkins, a great singer I've reviewed. A review that interested just over 100 people, but I'm still glad I wrote it because a character like that deserved it.

Pietro Minchiadura, if you haven't seen Dr. Strangelove and Armed Robbery, make sure to do so as soon as possible. I think Dr. Strangelove is Kubrick's best, anti-militarist with a terrifying cast of characters; it’s both funny and thought-provoking. Armed Robbery is also great, and while it has a slightly different style, it stands on par with Asphalt Jungle. I hope I'm making sense.

And kiss me, Stupid, doesn't anyone remember it? For my tastes, with The Apartment, it's the best of the great director. (But they're all pretty good).

Masterpiece!

Hetzer, perhaps you are right to say that it is the first film to fully exploit the anguishing oppression of long corridor lines... and that its exceptional technical setup is predominant over the metaphorical and para-psychological discourse that Kubrick pursues. But what disturbed me was the madness that slowly creeps into the writer's mind, and the fact that reality and hallucination are no longer distinguishable. You must admit that Grady's character is truly unsettling. I want to add that Duvall also acts brilliantly; you can really see it in the scene with the axe, which, due to its shots and color choices, sends chills down your spine. Not for nothing is she featured on the movie poster.

dreamwarrior, what you say about King I already knew very well; among other things, he had a remake made a few years ago. I couldn't write everything; I'm already biting my nails for having revealed how it ends. I should have just hinted at the axe scene and not revealed that the head chef gets killed. Finally, I should have only said that the film finds its resolution in the labyrinth and concluded with the photo. The strength of the film lies precisely in the description of the element of madness that gradually infiltrates Torrance; I think I have talked enough about the supernatural element.

A very difficult film to understand; once I read that there’s even a journey to the future (or the past?). To tell the truth, I didn't get it when I saw it many years ago.

I agree.

I respond to sadeyedpocahontas, as far as the plot is concerned, I agree with you, but it just turned out this way; I had never done it before in Psyco or Lolita. It seems to me that I have described the contents.

Hello everyone, I just connected now. First of all, I need to clarify that from the first line one might deduce that I am against the United States, but the fact that their state was built on violence, on the annihilation of a people, is history. The bold text can be misleading; the embodiment of evil refers to the Ovelook Hotel.
