The review is really well-written, but in my opinion, the album is quite ugly and stereotypical. A friend of mine who liked Evanescence accidentally downloaded it, and he listened to it for days..

Frankly speaking, I didn't particularly love "the downward spiral," also simply because it has no (ugly) sung parts and leans more towards ambient territories, which tells me I need to have it.

I heard it while going to work, I really don't like it. The lyrics sometimes wobble between the banal and the superfluous. Whoever said Syd Barrett should go to Lourdes immediately.

I would also mention Battisti, among the Italian music that's worth remembering... anyway, a friend lent me the album, it's horrible and tacky, and it's only good as background noise for a game of Dungeons and Dragons or Magic... in return, the straining high notes (terrible pronunciation and diction, by the way) and the beer festival choirs always triggered a big group laugh... in my opinion, these are dark-ages enthusiasts who think Copernicus was an idiot and never leave the house without their two-handed sword (strictly plastic, of course).

The character has never interested me, but I see that there's no point in going deeper (I’ll probably do it out of curiosity at this point anyway). It's still a very interesting page.
