King Crimson Earthbound

But in my opinion, this intentional sound imperfection is one of the main characteristics of this album. I appreciate it a lot for this as well. For me, it’s a 3.5/4, but since there are no halfway points for rating, I round it down because the Crimson have done much better live.

What an album!! The best by Hammill in my opinion. "Wilhelmina" and "Forsaken Gardens" soar above everything, but I also want to highlight the great contribution of Randy California in "Red Shift"! You can't overlook the fact that the lead guitar in this piece is played by him!!!
The Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers

Great review, although I've always preferred the Beatles and fall into the 80% you mentioned. However, this album is of unique beauty, with "Sway" shining above the other gems in the collection. Lastly, I agree that the Beatles-Rolling Stones dualism has truly become tiresome. I definitely prefer the former, whom I consider THE band par excellence, but I also listen to and appreciate the Stones a lot.

Genesis Live Over Europe

The review is good, but I can't help but say that the album is not that great. I'm also a fan of Genesis like the reviewer, and I've never limited my view of Genesis to being just a creation of Gabriel. For me, even after that, they made very good things. For example, I find an album that many dismiss, like Abacab, to be quite good. I got this Live Over Europe hoping to see them in great shape, but I find them barely acceptable. The versions of the songs seem very dull to me; even Afterglow, which Hetzer says is beautiful, is one of the worst on the album in my opinion. Just like In The Cage. I really like the two suites Domino and Home By The Sea, which save the album, but in my opinion, it doesn’t reach a passing grade. What a pity! For me, it's a 2.5!

And yet "Pawn Hearts" really topped the charts in Italy. Considering we were in the Bel Paese in 1971, I am increasingly surprised each time...
Genesis Selling England By The Pound

Selling England... is an absolute masterpiece. In my opinion, the best album by Genesis. As for Van Der Graaf, what can I say... they are number one! Their music digs deep into your guts. How can one say they are two or three steps below King Crimson, Genesis, and Yes? Even admitting the absolute greatness of these bands, Van Der Graaf (and Hammill as a solo artist too...) are something completely alien to the rest of the music world. I say that listening to one of their albums in full is an experience that everyone should have at least once in their lifetime.

One thing, though: from the review, it seems like you really enjoyed the concert, but you gave it three stars. Why is that?
