Come on, Bowie has done worse... just look at "Tonight" and "Let's Dance"... a 3 makes perfect sense for this album!!

Congratulations!!! Excellent review!!! You've done an impeccable analysis. I also liked the point you made about the group itself, which was never Gabriel-dependent, but rather an organism that worked in unison. Moreover, you didn't make a mistake in writing MoonLIT, and that definitely earns you an extra point!! :-D P.S. I'm curious to see the alternative cover; where did you find it?

Yes, but the fact that they had an intuition and didn't capitalize on it doesn't speak in favor of the Yardbirds. So if we stick to the narrow scope of: "In which song can you hear a sitar for the first time?" and not "Who had the idea first?", the Beatles were the first. The Yardbirds may have had the intuition earlier, but they lacked the courage to fully experiment.

The first to use the sitar was George Harrison in 1965 in the song "Norwegian Wood" from Rubber Soul! Anyway, Between the Buttons is a great album in my opinion!

Ah Ah Ah!! Imagine Lanzetti trembling with his voice while getting slapped in the face by Lord....a scene worthy of the best Bud Spencer movie!! :-)

I was simply responding to your post where you said that the little you've heard of The Verve has discouraged you from listening to anything of theirs. And I thought back to your words, because they are your words, not mine, about how nothing decent has been produced since '77 for you. The proof of this is in the comments you leave on every review you don't like. A lot of today's music annoys me too, but I don't go onto every review of these pseudo-musicians to write crap. Believe me, you won't save anyone from "damnation" by doing that, and no one will be invited to reflect on the music they listen to.
And anyway, I am Meurglys III d'Albione!! :-)
