The National Boxer
Voto:
Anyway, 'Boxer' deserves a solid 5 stars, already one of the best releases from an anonymous 2007... Matt Berninger is an exceptional cross between Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen.

As soon as I saw the cover, I thought to myself, 'if it sounds even a little like it looks, it's definitely going to be a great album..' -A sentiment that, unfortunately, doesn't apply to the exotic Rihanna, alas. :)
Interpol Our Love To Admire

'Boxer' by the National, that’s a hell of a record; not these four New York dandy types (the bassist dresses embarrassingly, looking like Umberto I of Savoy…).
Simply Red A New Flame
Voto:
Seventh grade, nice memories.. He's really a redhead, you know, one of those 'flaming' ones.
Michael Jackson Off The Wall

Are you Giallorosso? Great, then. ;)
R.E.M. Out Of Time
Voto:
Come on STIPE, okay there’s 'Country feedback' or 'Low', but are you sure 'Out of time' is one of the best R.E.M.?!
Sonic Youth Daydream Nation

I would like to see the expression on Thurston Moore's face reading analyses about 'causes and consequences of prog from the Sixties to the present day' that emerged from the comments on a review of 'Daydream Nation'.. Jim Carrey is just giving him a hard time. Regarding this very watershed moment, burns, defining it as their 'Nevermind' seems reductive and simplistic to me; also because we are not talking about millions of copies. So (in terms of approach, intention, social context, and producer) I find 'Dirty' to be a more fitting label, with which they actually tried to make it big.

You’ve unleashed Arnold, your problem now...

I am not a believer, Alessio, but imagining Arnold as 'God' could make me change my mind... Finally, a religion tailored for man!

Well, quite often with trickykid. The important thing is to distinguish the somewhat anomalous prog of Van Der Graaf Generator from the useless and overly elaborate baroqueisms of, say, EL&P or Yes post-'73. Sometimes it's nice to agree and go hand in hand through fields of violets, right? :)
P.S. - An autographed photo of Maurizio Seymandi to whoever explains the bold parallelism between SY and Genesis.
