A record like 'Nevermind' probably had a studio gestation of a maximum of 2-3 months ('sound 'research' is relative: we’re talking about Nirvana, not King Crimson) and a cost of a few tens of thousands of dollars. Productions like 'Dangerous' or 'Like a Prayer', programmed to sell like hamburgers from McDonald's, have billion-dollar plastic productions that last for years.
Sorry, but it’s a silly and illogical parallel. Think about it however you want, okay? In fact, como as you are! :)
