Marco Risi Maradona - La Mano de Dios

azzo: if I remember correctly, Maradona took a weight loss drug or something similar (in any case an illegal substance, but not doping in the strict sense) with the assurance that he wouldn’t be caught in the urine test. Which eventually happened. For this reason - I believe - Carlo uses the term "framed."

But what’s this, a review? Not that I disagree when someone writes about their personal opinions and emotions, but here you've only written about those (without really going into much detail) and nothing about the album, which I’m not familiar with. Regards.

The creams are large and heavy, for me a bit too much after a while. The review is well-written and thoughtful.

I almost forgot... have you ever happened to read the magazine "calcio 2000" when it was edited by Bartoletti? Just out of curiosity.

Dear Carlo, I understand that you are a football enthusiast and you know your stuff, which only makes me an admirer of yours. However, I disagree with your view of the man Maradona, who (at least in Italy) is seen as a kind of god on earth by television and newspapers (I remember a "ballando con le stelle" and the episodes of the Biscardi trial). The mere phrase "Maradona is a tango played by the Rolling Stones" earns you a 5.

but who is this? a new one?

Maybe it's because you don't talk about music, but it felt a bit different from usual. Very beautiful nonetheless.

Why djmush? I don't find it that flat, at least not as much as his less successful ones (e.g. survival).

And then I’ll wrap it up: I said it myself that "grace" is closely tied to the '90s, and I stand by that, I see very little of the '70s in it (I see more of them in an album like "ten," for example, just to mention one roughly from the same era). And I appreciate TB a lot even though I don't have a jazz 'background,' quite the opposite. Best wishes and happy holidays. PS ajeje, come back! this review was fantastic!

Fedezan: Maybe you started with the wrong album to listen to Tim Buckley... I believe. Try Happy Sad, which is definitely easier. Then, aside from the obvious factor of tastes, you have to consider that JB lived in the '90s, which musically (really?!) are very different from the '60s/'70s. So it’s obvious that he made "different" songs, even instrumentally. However, as I've read once in a review of "Look at the Fool," in TB the words mattered little; they were just a pretext for the voice, that incredible voice he happened to have. In short, to clear any doubt... try listening to a cover that JB did of his father (I believe I never asked to be your mountain and another one) and make your comparison. Or maybe listen to "Starsailor," his masterpiece.
