It's precisely the adjective "beautiful" that gets on my nerves. What the hell does beautiful mean? It means absolutely nothing. It's used for everything and is not at all argumentative. Beautiful sea, beautiful place, beautiful boy, beautiful pussy, beautiful painting. Damn, what the hell is BEAUTIFUL about this movie? And then, today in art, in artistic forms, the ugly and the shocking are in vogue. Example? Cattelan hangs up children's puppets. It's an effective and brutal work that hits hard and stimulates reactions. Try saying beautiful again. Who the hell cares if it's beautiful? Nowadays, I care whether it MATTERS OR IT DOESN'T MATTER. Does this movie matter? No. IT DOESN'T MATTER. I’ll stop here to avoid putting too much on the fire.

The posts of good psyco are very pleasant and well-reasoned. On Lost in Translation, my cousin, quite an expert in cinema, finds that the "not shouting" things, expressing them through silence, is Coppola's greatest stroke of genius. Japan, in the end, is a pointless and sleepy background, a detail, a snippet of a youth that probably isn’t too far from the real one (at least that's how I've seen it). In any case, I find the film (lost) indigestible. I hate Coppola. Demented.

for me it's 1 more person reading the stuff I write...it's not that bad after all.

You're not entirely wrong, RompiPalle. In fact, there are some reviews I could have spared (myself)...

Damn Giovanni, in any case I'm crushed by the harsh reviews (I'm referring to the sad average, not to your clear and knowledgeable posts which I always appreciate). Be that as it may, I didn't expect it. Someone reads the review and then finds it unreliable, right after the comments from the debaserians, and I'm quite sorry about this, since I try to provide information with the utmost seriousness and reliability. I read it again, I like it, yet it ended up in a pile of shit. And I find that absurd.
