Yes, dear CONTEMPLATION. You say things that I agree with. It is always a pleasure to read your clarifications.

ASTOUNDING. There is a richness of sounds, an extreme fantasy in the colorful mix of creations. I’m referring to the "complete sessions" where you taste the strong sound contrasts, from "Mademoiselle Mabry" to the psychedelic "Splash" (but that's not the only one). The usual fascinating and captivating sounds in the style of Davis are not lacking, and the influences of Zawinul are evident.

@ CONTEMPLATION. hello dear. I meant to say that Coleman was revolutionizing the genre, while Rollins was moving forward linearly. Yes, indeed, upon rereading myself it’s not clear and immediate.

FRIENDS (EVERYONE) it must be said that the young Coltrane, I'm talking about his 20s, was truly serene and carefree. It's in the years that he started playing feverishly on solos, striving like a marathon runner to overdo it and losing that serenity. Some appreciate this, but his style changed over the years. While Rollins was peacefully on his path, Coltrane was applying himself, almost competing to "outdo" him. What Rollins lost was the fortitude of his intuitions. Clearly, the album I’m describing is a gem of incredible energy and, in terms of compositional strength and insights, it is certainly superior to the subsequent works, which are a bit less energetic and satisfying. Coltrane's death certainly marked Rollins. I am convinced of this. THE ALBUMS OF THE 70s (LIKE "NEXT ALBUM") ARE OF INFERIOR QUALITY. GREATNESS YES, BUT IN SPOTS!
@ contemplation: (and to the skeptics). SONNY HAD THE COURAGE TO INTERRUPT THE TRIUMPHANT MARCH OF LESTER YOUNG AS AN ARCHETYPE FOR YOUNG TENOR SAXOPHONISTS, AND HE HAD THE GOOD IDEA TO RECOVER THE IMPORTANT LESSONS OF HAWKINS FOR HARD BOP. AM I EXPLAINED NOW? NEVER ATTRIBUTED TO HAWKINS THE PATERNITY OF THE GENRE. THERE WOULD BE MUCH TO DISCUSS.

I didn’t write ā€œit doesn’t say anythingā€! I’m trying to say that it’s a piece stolen from Kind of Blue and that in this album I find it less fitting. For heaven’s sake, my opinion.
