I'm not a fan of the genre, but when it comes to good music, I never hold back. I only know this work by Autechre. A fairytale. I wouldn't be able to say anything about the genre or technical issues. I just know that Incunabula sends me into paranoia and captures me like few records do on any front. And it knows how to create fears that aren't there. Perhaps this is the beauty of artificial music (don’t kill me!). A record to have.

I listened to it last night and it immediately captivated me. Now I’m totally in sync with it and I’ll adjust my rating to match the review. The album definitely deserves a solid 5.

Hi and thanks everyone. death, you’re right about the genre, but I didn’t know what to put and the only trait that somewhat connected the two bands was this tendency towards goth (commercial anyway!). But you’re absolutely right about that. As for the posers... believe me, Dani looked like a kid that night, calm and sweet, he just pushed himself to sing but didn’t have the slightest superstar attitude, while the guy from Deathstars, well he was like a hooker from a Parisian brothel in the 1800s.

I don't know them, and from how you present them, they could be a very interesting discovery. I'm giving it a 5 only because I didn't quite grasp the musical references. But I will give them a listen. Good job, anyway.

Great review, very well written. Excellent presentation of a thought I share. Deadwing is played and produced incredibly well, but it’s basically a mishmash of stuff I’ve already heard that lacks the charm of innovative reinterpretation. Rejected.
