kosmogabri, it's a total crowd-pleaser done really well. Try not to think about the annoyance that the concept of crowd-pleasing can bring and just focus on the "grammar" of the film. It's excellent. The fact remains that it's one of the few movies I feel this way about. But the work behind Trainspotting is truly exceptional from this perspective.

It's pointless to consider the book when we are faced with a film. I always think this way. This is a movie designed to hit a specific target, and with how meticulously it has been constructed in every detail, it deserves to be rated at the highest level. Even though, deep down, it has never fully convinced me. But all the obsessive work on the details to create a mass phenomenon... well, in this case, it deserves recognition. It's too well-made not to reach the top. I hope the sense of what I've written is clear.
