In my opinion, Dodi Battaglia is a great guitarist; let's try to take him out of context: in terms of technique, he was one of the best at the time. He is probably hindered by a lack of creativity.

Very good album, though not at the level of Parsifal. These are Poohs that are profoundly different from today's ones; if only people understood this...

Poor review full of mistakes (Are we in '63, are you sure?), I give it a 3 just to help others, record for me max 6, 6.5/10, much lower than Neu!2.

As S4Doll says, it's a film of pure technique, the plot has a nice ass. This film is a solo performance, a display of technical prowess and virtuosity that only a few can afford. It may not be among the best war films; perhaps "Paths of Glory" or "The Thin Red Line" belong there, but this still deserves a 5: you've got Spielberg and Tom Hanks, they’re not just any names.

Accelerate and you lose a bit of time, no kidding, Phil Collins will improvise too, but he NEVER loses time, and I mean NEVER, even while doing things of the same difficulty. Yes Joe, it's not a problem, I can do that roll too (I just have fewer toms), although it's not extremely difficult, it's possible to mess it up (and I'm telling you this from someone who's well acquainted with mistakes behind the kit). Neil Peart had it happen just like that, who knows how many times he got it perfectly, and then in this version it came out like that. I don't make it a state issue, I'm just saying that Phil Collins, from this point of view, was infallible.

In my opinion, it doesn't breathe '80s air; rather, it feels like one of those timeless albums (even Selling England gives me that sensation). I wouldn't know what score to give it; I should listen to it again, but I think it would hover around 4 or 5 stars. Neil Peart, in my view, isn't the best; he's kind of like a Mike Portnoy (or maybe it's the other way around), too cold and technical. Moreover, if you pay attention, on this album he makes several inaccuracies (perhaps that's what makes it beautiful), like in "Red Barchetta" at 3:44 minutes, where his hand accelerates a bit too much on the toms, something that could never have happened to a Collins.

Yes, the album definitely gets a 3; it's certainly a significant improvement over the previous album.
