Thank you, Ozzy. No, I don't have a profile on MySpace. Mutiilation is great, you just need to be open to a mediocre technique and a poor recording: they are the biggest influence on Xasthur.

Your perspective is also interesting, Central European compared to mine, which is more metropolitan and Western; that doesn’t change the fact that in both cases the result is "quite different" from Cradle or Filth (but just a little, eh). You’re right about the style, but I didn’t mean to dwell too much on the music to focus on the concepts, especially since the band is famous. In fact, I used Darkthrone as a comparison just as a reference to the abrasive side (otherwise I would have said Burzumian for the depressive, Emperorian for the symphonic, and Mayhemian for the Gorogorth). If you browse through the metal archive, in the final section of each group there are the links; if the group has a Myspace page you’ll find the connection there.
