Well, something like that could be written in barely two minutes by any "detraction regardless," without even having seen it first (rather the opposite). But what’s so terrible about this Hobbit? It’s a fantasy film based on a children’s book, a bit slow at the beginning but it picks up in the second half, enriched by visual solutions and technical execution that are hard to ignore. It may not be a masterpiece, but it’ll give you three pleasant hours. To label it as crap and treat it as if it’s one of the worst things ever conceived is a bit ridiculous; then again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion (I give it four stars, but it would be three and a half).
