You write all the right things, but the underlying problem is that you see as merits what many (and often I) see as flaws. Therefore, it’s difficult for me to save an album where the elements you call references (I call them plagiarisms) are so pronounced. In my opinion, they did better in their subsequent works where they abandoned certain dangerous habits of overly reckless "citations." However, they never brought too many ideas to the table, to tell the truth...
