Welcome to the new fake scaruffiano on deBaser (vic is you?), anyway I really like the album, I’ll print the review and read it at my leisure. I’ll tell you...

I wrote really poorly; if I need to clarify, I'm available.

It’s not that; I agree that appearing on MTV doesn’t necessarily mean selling out, but there’s something to be said about Korn, as opposed to Yorke, which is that their tendency toward the mainstream was evident even early in their career in the way they presented themselves, their relationships with the press, and especially their look (I’d love to know how much money they took from a famous German sportswear company). For Yorke, it’s different, in the sense that we’re talking (rightly or wrongly—personally, I like him) about a sacred monster that transcends commerciality; it’s hard for a major media channel to ignore him, as he has sown too well in a very intelligent way in the past.
As for Metallica, they made a forced choice at the beginning of the '90s; to survive the grunge wave, they had two options: either continue and perhaps "toughen up" or compromise with the show business. They probably saw that (and it’s natural; it happens) they were somewhat exhausting their creative vein to keep doing the same things from the '80s, and they made a respectable choice because they didn’t just start making electronic music like others (see U2, later cleverly repentant). Instead, they continued, if not doing Metal, at least making a rock that is more than decent; people age and ideas pass, and some react one way while others react another.
In any case, Maiden and Manowar have shown that it is possible to keep selling a lot even without media chaos surrounding them, only with an intelligent approach to the audience, strong word of mouth from fan clubs, and the support of capable management. Bye!

I've already talked about it enough in other reviews, beautiful anyway.

As I mentioned in another review, I don't understand all these doubts (and I want to specify that I really only appreciate the first Korn album), it sounds and is arranged very well, and I really like the duet with Robert Smith. They had millions of ways to market themselves; all in all, they chose the least bad option (considering that their MTV trajectory was predictable right from the beginning).

Personally, it seems to me that good old Leo has two expressions in his repertoire: wounded chick, tormented hero... like Eastwood, but at least Eastwood's (with hat, without hat, yes, yes, I'm quoting Leone before you point it out to me in 5000...) were more imaginative... Poletti made the right example with Pitt (and I would also add Cruise), these three will have a common career trajectory, namely this sequence A) a youth where they will be considered only heartthrobs but not talented B) a mature phase where they will undergo a reevaluation (and DiCaprio is in this phase) C) the forties where everyone will actually realize that perhaps reevaluating them has been a mistake (and here we find Pitt and Cruise), then maybe phases D), E), F) etc. could follow where anything can happen, but nothing takes away from my mind that their ideal dimension lies only in phase A)... As usual, it's just my personal opinion.. Hi everyone! ;-)
