Honestly, I think it's their least technical album (and therefore I don't see this self-indulgence..) It’s definitely not on the level of "Aenima" (that album can never be surpassed in my opinion), but in its overall simplicity, I prefer it to that true example of verbose music that is "Lateralus."

It's probably talked about a lot because they are the best metal band, like it or not. ;-) I don't think the Iron overshadow anything; some younger bands (and their fans) should take a good look in the mirror before they speak, that's all.

I repeat, there is no official source reporting the news that Harris spoke to any journalist; that's not much of a proof. They're not new to these things—back in '98, McBrain declared that there would be 8 songs written by him on the next album... and that’s just one of many examples. If the album ends up being called that, I'll be ready to apologize and sprinkle ashes on my head. ;-)
@47: I was just joking, dear, I didn't want to stir up controversy (I even added the emoticon...), and anyway, the fact that they don't have much to say is your opinion, which I respect. To me, they still say a lot, even today. "AMOLAD" is still in heavy rotation on my MP3, just like the two previous albums... I can understand comments like "I hate them" because those are personal tastes that don't need to be debated, but not comments like "let's hope it never sees the light of day." Just don’t listen to them, My God! It's not like the doctor orders you to. With all the ugliness in this world, you have to target the Maiden? Come on! ;-)

Indeed, I was talking about electronics in general, it's hard to categorize this record, so I've linked it to a broader genre ;-)

Speaking of electronics: Lamb, the very first Prodigy, Underworld, and Leftfield in the trip-hop genre, definitely Portishead, Tricky, and Massive Attack until '94. I also like "Mezzanine," but I know that's a very debatable opinion. After that, I would also include Sneaker Pimps, but that leans more into my personal tastes. Bye ;-)
