Of course, in fact, I didn't take it as a negative critique; otherwise, I would need to be hospitalized ;-), I explained my thoughts better because maybe in the review I was a bit "hazy."

You just beat me to it; I already had it ready. All the better—you did an excellent job. It means I'll choose something else from the maestro!

Genius film and to quote Sclavi, "there's no reason for so much violence or maybe there is, and it is indeed Hell."

Dear Psycho, your points are impeccable. I just want to say, as I already mentioned in my review, that this work should be viewed subjectively, and the moral (if there is one) can be derived depending on various sensibilities. In my case, I perceived this reflection on how blurred the boundaries are between the two spheres that govern the universe. It’s true that the almost obtuse and inflexible soldier is portrayed with extreme leniency because he serves an ideal (whether right or wrong), while the corrupt politician, a slave to mere material gain, is treated with extreme severity. This is my point of view; reading the manga amplifies this impression even more. Bye!

Thank you all for the comments. I would like to say a couple of things in response to the issues raised. a) The film is from '87 (production started in '83), so the use of computers is in line with the times (at a minimum). Therefore, certain flaws in a work of such size and scope are understandable, and it must be said that much more recent works do not have the same evocative power even if they use far more advanced techniques. Hence, it can be considered a milestone in animated film. b) As for the screenplay, it certainly has its shortcomings, but we must consider that it comes from a very extensive work, and condensing it into 2 hours of film was a real undertaking. In my opinion, the result was the best they could achieve at that time, providing, among other things, a different perspective compared to the manga.
