@kosmo: Thank you! Anyway, she says it in the movie that it's fake... ;-) @Iside: let’s not get confused, it’s me who needs to become a case study, the good Marco already is (and you don’t know the envy...) @Blackdog, Arnold, and Nofake: :-DDDDDDDDDDD, @Eletto and Deneil: thank you, you fully understood my idea.. @Randolph. Thanks to you too! I agree, Lynch has objectively done better (if you notice, in the ranking "Mullholland Drive" isn't there, for example..) but for that matter, objectively, "Lo chiamavano Trinità" isn’t the best Western of all time either ;-), all this because the parameters are those mentioned above and, as you say, I don’t claim to recommend films to save at all costs, but films that are important to me, that’s all, there’s a difference, but I don’t think there's a need to say it, it seems we’re on the same page! Hi everyone!
P.S.: I apologize to the reviewer and to all of you if I took up space with my nonsense, but the desire to become a case study has taken over ;-)

The ranking should be read as entirely indicative, in the sense that if you exclude the top 10-15 positions (which include the films I place above all others), the remaining films could all be positioned anywhere between 11th and 16th place. However, I believe that when we create (for fun and not for real critical value; indeed, I reiterate, I claim the absolute subjectivity of these choices) these lists, we must also take responsibility for our decisions: it's an excellent moment for self-analysis. Regarding the parameters, there are essentially two: A) Which films do I feel like watching more often? B) Which films do I have the clearest memories of because they left a mark on my mind for some reason?
If I were to think in purely artistic terms, then probably fewer than 10 of the ones I mention would actually make it into the 50. But that would make no sense because A) I'm not a critic (and I have no desire to become one) B) what sense would it make to create a list where, instead of recommending just my tastes, I chose to suggest films whose objective value is widely recognized? In Naples, they say: "Qua nisciunno e' fesso" (forgive me, Neapolitans, if I wrote it incorrectly), we all know that Tarkovsky's "Stalker" (a film, by the way, that doesn't appear on your list) is among the greatest cinematic experiences of all time, and I'm not naming others. But honestly, if you exclude the admiration for a conceptually avant-garde work, I don’t feel like watching it often (in fact, quite the opposite...). Therefore, I avoid appearing as a pseudointellectual (I’m not saying that you are, just to be clear) as many critics do (who are debatable themselves, for that matter), and there’s no need for me to name names because we all know them, and I'd prefer to play the role of the superficial without critical spirit, who, however, thinks for themselves (and I won't list the 50 albums because you would probably come to my house and kill me... ;-)) Hi Marco, think about it!

I'm copying and pasting a previous post of mine in this same review for Marco's benefit, to clarify my choice parameters:
Lists make sense if one acknowledges the absolute subjectivity in compiling them and uses them as moments of reflection and self-analysis (a way to take stock, in short). In my ideal top 50 compiled a few months ago, for instance, there isn't a masterpiece like "Stalker" by Tarkovsky, nor a Wells, a Lang, a Bergman, and who knows how many other objective masterpieces are missing as well. But that's the beauty of it; it's mine and only mine, and it reveals a lot about my personality (and also my flaws and limitations, why not?). On the other hand, compiling a ranking and putting the term "essential" in front of it is not only useless (and reminiscent of the much-despised criticism), but it also loses the very purpose of a list, which is to spark discussion. Cheers!
