Well, oh God, Nick, it depends on the person (or user), I don't think people like (I hate to name names but I have to mention you guys, sorry) Bartleboom, Tepes, Dreamwarrior, and immodestly I include myself in this list are that exaggerated in taking themselves seriously and yet they often review material like this, and I’ve mentioned 3, there are others; in the last few months I’ve seen some reviews that are much worse in terms of lack of irony that weren’t Metal. Recently, I’ve seen people wishing death on someone else twice: in the first case, it was a non-metalhead against another non-metalhead, and the Staff rightly intervened; in the second case, it was a non-metalhead towards a metalhead, and aside from myself (and I must give credit where it's due), the judge, no one else intervened. In both cases, however, the ones taking themselves too seriously were two non-metalheads. I’ll tell you the truth, it seems to me that very few people around here are downplaying (in the right way) and ā€œmusical faithā€ has little to do with it, and the trend of wanting to shut others up with a barrage of clichés (which are abundant on this page, for example) is starting to bore me. Just as you have the sacred right to make fun of things, I have the right to say that phrases like ā€œit sucks, missilesā€ have started to tire me out and they no longer make me laugh, if they ever did, given that they were coined by users like Sanjuro who, as far as irony goes, I fear might be lacking despite appearances.
And come on, let’s be honest, if I now go to a review of the Pixies and say ā€œthis album sucks rats,ā€ see what chaos would ensue, forget the Metalheads (and I mentioned the Pixies because they are the first that came to mind among the untouchables on DeB, not because I don’t like them, eh...). Let’s be real, the world is the same everywhere; you attack Metal because it gets under your skin (which you have every right to feel) and not because of the excessive seriousness of the genre’s fans. And I bet my ass that lariana56 didn’t even read the reviews (or listen to the albums) in the vast majority of cases; if that’s the case (and I imagine it is), I think it’s legitimate for a fan of the genre to get angry and tell you to fuck off, or simply to point out that you’re ruining a page where people wanted to discuss peacefully, while generally, a metalhead wouldn’t do the same with other genres. Do you find this reasoning wrong?

You're right, I'm heavy just like you've been offensive and often, that's enough, take care.

Well, maybe I’m just incapable of expressing myself properly since even Nick’s comment suggests that I took offense at the double one ratings for the Metal reviews. I won’t delve into reminding you that I’m not a metalhead, and I probably never have been, even though Maiden are the only Metal band I’ve ever truly liked. I won’t dwell on all the times I’ve posted reviews that willingly lent themselves to the game of the double one; I’ll skip many things, but I’m just sorry to see how a certain type of guarantees in these pages isn’t always applied in the same measure. I recognize that my stubbornness in this regard is like fighting windmills, but honestly, I don’t see irony; I see a bit of unhealthy contempt, am I wrong? Your refusal to tackle the topic makes me fear I’m not. That said, I’m afraid I don’t want to address the issue any further because just three comments (on-topic because it’s about Metal reviews, I remind you) have already earned me the epithets of ā€œheavy,ā€ ā€œplaying dumb,ā€ etc., and I fear there’s very little to counter in the clear evidence of such different languages between us. Take care, everyone, truly.

Prog and Black Metal? Interesting, we will give it a try.

Forgive the Errors and Various Horrors, but I wasn't really in the mood to reread it; it's made with the myocardium and like all things made with that muscle it’s imperfect... (the myocardium of a dead person, by the way...)

I think Azzo's first comment was joking. Well written even though it's not exactly a review; I won't give you 5 because it's a bit too brief. I don't know the album.
