I thank you both for stopping by this humble page. @IlPeggio: who are you telling it to? ;-) @Psychopatha: you're right about the cover discussion; in a way, his career started by playing other people's songs (as a teenager, he performed in gay venues in Washington). As for the intrinsic value of this album, that's a matter of personal taste. Personally, I prefer Amos as a songwriter rather than as an interpreter, so it goes without saying that I didn't give my all to this work, but that’s just my opinion. Bye!

This will be a bit of a long post, bear with me... @Contemplation: 1) I've never been in competition with anyone in my life, so there's no sense of inferiority; from your reaction, it seems that the problem is only yours. 2) Until post 58, I found you likable, but from there on, you've shown your real (minimal) ability to give feedback. 3) Was I offensive? You were wondering why all the DeB Fakes mock you; I think I gave you a polite and objective answer, or should I have just minded my own business? Maybe, but your "naivety" made me smile "good-naturedly" and for a reason, which I will explain later, I passed by here and thought it would be useful to share my opinion. 4) From your discussions, it is clear that you don’t really understand anything about the female universe, and for once, I have to quote the Judge. 5) It’s disheartening to note that, despite your proclamations, everything is fine as long as the Fakes attack others (in fact, you laugh it off), but as soon as the subject becomes you, suddenly everyone is an asshole; that’s not very democratic and quite hypocritical. That said, I don’t need to justify myself for anything since you’re the one who’s been out of line (and let me say, at this point, all your tales about the quantity and quality of sex you’ve had lose a lot of credibility...). In the 19 months I’ve been on this site, I believe I’ve demonstrated how to behave politely, with irony but also with severity and seriousness when necessary, and above all, how to deal with Fakes and Trolls in general (even though not all fakes are necessarily trolls). I’m certainly not a great reviewer, and probably my musical tastes aren’t as "refined" as yours, but unlike you, I think I’ve created some empathy by knowing how to listen and behaving with that humility that you might be lacking (and God knows how much you need it; you’d see that these things wouldn’t happen...). Yesterday, I passed by here to do a bit of spam and to say my definitive goodbye to the site (I’m using my first Nick for a reason) for reasons you wouldn’t be interested in knowing, but I stumbled upon your protest and considering you (before these events) a civilized person, I thought you had the right to a serious explanation and not the ridiculous one from the various fakes (by the way, are you absolutely sure you don’t have any? At this point, you really seem like the type), but evidently, I overestimated you; you’re just a mediocre, nothing more nor less than other Infesting Cases on these pages. You know how to write (very) well, you’re probably an excellent musician, and you express yourself well, but how to behave (at least here in real life, I hope you’re not like this) you still need to learn; I’ve given you some hints above. That said, I’ll take my leave; I’m not doing any spam, but I greet you all here. Cptgaio, Emofiliaco, CaptainHowdy, and MorenoB cease their presence on DeB here, forever and this time for real; it's implied that I will not respond to any of your replies, civil or not. Goodbye.

Well, with all due respect, it seems to me that this is an obsession for you. I repeat, you bring up the topic as soon as you can. It's also clear that you mainly talk about music, but that is not an absolute condition for the fact mentioned. Don't get mad, okay? You don’t seem to be the one caught in the "castagna". Bye.

I think the problem, Contemplazione, is not that you have sex abundantly (good for you, and if your standards of "frequency" are really what you say, I can only envy you) but that you find every excuse to point it out, that's rather ungraceful. That's all. Best regards.

I respect your opinion, and I’ll conclude here as well. Goodbye!

I agree on this, but one thing is to express dissent with "peaceful" protests, another is to trash an entire category of people because, as Gadda said, not all of us are condemned to be intelligent. (This discussion doesn't concern you because, as far as I know you, you have always remained civil.) There are also different ways to misuse one's stupidity; I try to control mine, while I see that many don't do the same. Regarding the issue of clogging up the site, we have different views. In my opinion, the site is vast enough to accommodate all possible duplicates (whether they are about the Maiden or Castellina Pasi, there is no difference), so if there's a tenth review of the same album, I might just choose not to read it, but that’s just my point of view, not a cosmic rule.

Yes, I agree, but then I could turn the situation around on DeB; any jazz album (and I mean any) is rated at least 4 stars by the Reviewers (and I'm sticking to jazz, but there are other genres we could discuss). Are we sure that jazz is always deserving of 4 stars (when in reality it's always 5 stars)?
Then there's the whole "indispensable" discussion. Let's be honest, the site is run by fans (some more involved than others, but it’s all fans) so the more or less dispensability of a group, an album, or a genre being discussed should always be taken with a grain of salt. Honestly, I don’t come to DeB in search of objectivity, if it ever existed, because it's the very structure of the site that hinders its development, regardless of what some so-called experts say around these pages.

Ah, regarding the musical relevance discussion, I think it's always a risk that a site built like DeBaser faces. That’s why we have reader comments to balance out any questionable judgments from the reviewers, or at least they should serve that purpose (also giving 1s) and not to start crusades that do little good. Don’t you think so?

Ole, my friend, put in all the 1s you want, it seems to me that in the comment, and in the others left on the subject, I clearly state that that's not the problem; the problem is the disrespectful attitude of too many users who, under the pretext of a supposed (only supposed because I’ve shown with figures that it's only relative; of course, with the PF, they are the most reviewed group, but in the total mass, those figures disappear) Maiden overexposure, just get bored, come on, it's always the same two jokes (no need for me to repeat them), and for heaven's sake! the Maiden will never change, but neither will the detractors; they are no longer funny and lately they also verge on disrespectful, if not offensive. That's all, I don't think the Site gains anything from this attitude, quite the opposite, and I remind you that there have been users banned for much less compared to certain comments lately left by a Rivoli or a Neu! (and I'm not even talking about the "sucks javelins" jokes from others because they are simply folkloristic and so overused that they backfire on those posting them). I don't believe anyone here wants another 100 lines of statistics from me on this matter, but it doesn't take much to add two and two together. Take care, dear!
