Pantera Vulgar Display Of Power

@Jurix: I'll tell you, I belong to the "machemefregasestoquaèundoppione" party for various reasons: one above all (and to those who have already read this reflection in other comments, I ask for your patience) is that the story of duplicates taking space away from other reviews (a hallmark of the "abbassoaprescindereidoppioni" party) is statistically a myth (I'm not going to repeat the calculations here because it would bore you; if you want, I can send it to you privately). This is so evident, especially in this time of scarcity of new reviews (I think you've all noticed that the average duration of acoustics in HP has gone from 24 hours (not more than 6 months ago) to almost 96 hours. It's almost a concern for opticians) that even if we included (and I’ll give an example) that review on 200 that PF have on average, the average duration (especially now in lean times) would remain virtually the same (even if we combined all the averages of IM, DT, and Metallica).

If we then look at the comments left (and this can be understood from the average duration of a comment on the "Latest Comments" page), this issue becomes even more evident (there's little to be done; everyone complains about duplicates, but then on average a review on Radiohead, for instance, attracts many more visitors and commentators than others that are not "duplicated"). Another discussion is for those who tell me that "fewer but better are better than many and poorly done," but unfortunately we are falling into metaphysics, in the sense that there are far too many users who take it upon themselves to decide for others what is good and what is bad, and what is useful and what is useless, and this (as evidenced by the average attitude on this page, which, by the way, I find to be the correct one: it should always be this way) is purely a matter of personal tastes. Therefore, this review is no less "useless" (and I use this term, which I don’t like) than the fifth one on "The Number of the Beast" since it essentially adds nothing new, yet the same things wouldn't happen in the latter case.

If we were to start admitting that the battle is not about duplicates, but solely about tastes and issues of "cultural dominance" on DeB, it would be intellectually commendable. But that will never happen. Just to clarify: as a reviewer, 96 hours of one of mine being in HP is more than sufficient (in fact, too much; sometimes I hope others come in to push mine out), but 24 hours were also sufficient. I hope I have clarified that.

Well, I hope so (but I don't believe it) too. And you're not naïve :-D

Watch out, Bartle, because this year the new Maiden is coming out, then we'll see if they've disappeared. ;-) In my opinion, they've just changed tactics... Regarding the other thing you mentioned, I would check the playlist, like 39528.

Bah, if I don't put on a few studs before going to bed, I end up having bad dreams. I'm like Marilyn, except she used to put on 2 drops of N°5, while I...

@Rock: it's just because you're right, don't get discouraged @Trota: you're welcome, but that's not fair ... :-D

I don't understand one thing. But did Pantera play Metal? Anyway, this is a good album (I would give it a 3 but I'm giving it a 4 for the memories) but I prefer "Cowboys from Hell," which I find unique in its genre. However, the curious thing is that despite this being a (multiple) duplicate, I don't see even a single 1, nor do I see (correct me if I'm wrong) a comment like "a review useful as a jerusalem artichoke shoved up the ass," aside from the one from GW/Fidia at number 1, which is much more accommodating than usual (is he getting old and resigned as well? ;-)...). This makes me think that the average DeBaserian isn't very consistent with the battle against duplicates (don't come tell me it depends on the quality of the reviews, because we all know that 1s for duplicates are given regardless) or perhaps that Pantera are more tolerated than PF, DT, Metallica, Maiden, etc.? Want to see if, as usual, all this objectivity boils down to a simple and banal matter of taste? Well, once I was young and strong and could have answered all these interesting questions, but now I'm old and squishy (and morally heavy, with no sense of irony, little flexibility, etc. etc.... I'll give you a heads up...).

I don't know them (and honestly, they don't attract me) but your presence in HP is a wonderful thing!
