Christopher Cain The Principal - Una Classe Violenta
Voto:
True, cute with moments that are also quite "violent" among other things.

So it certainly tells stories that concern the generation before mine (but in the end, my generation, the "age of swords," experienced it fully, so the events narrated go well beyond the time span covered: already the next generation, '81-92, has "seen" the heroin in veins a bit less) but the first people to read it were those of the subsequent one (that is, mine, and forgive the repetition :-D).
Adam Smith The Chemical Brothers - Don't Think

I've been neglecting my little brothers for years, but now this thing has piqued my curiosity enough. I think I'll go see it.

A few days ago, I was discussing with a friend about the book (especially the awful Italian version that is still circulating), how significant (let’s say important) it has been in the lives of a certain type of generation (which happens to be mine) and how the film, while undermining certain "violences" present and overflowing with blatant naivety, has been a worthy corollary. I believe that certain works should be evaluated with different parameters compared to the average: hence the rating. A review that lives up to it, as usual :-D P.S. It's a shame about some comments: a tough time for Debaser right now.

I didn’t know her; intrigued by your review, I went to listen to something on YouTube. Interesting, I will get it. Thank you.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor Make A Scene

Mmm, pleasant little disc that deserves a 3 just for the esteem I have for it (Y)(Y)(Y)(Y)(Y). You did great as usual.
Tori Amos Night Of Hunters

I don't give a rating to the review because I've already rated it (even though it was a vote regardless, as explained in comment 21, and in fact, I wouldn't give it more than a 2 now) on the album, which I must say is an ambitious endeavor and in many ways even pretentious (but that's her: she has never settled, she has released 12 albums, each one different from the other, often testing the "patience" of even her most dedicated fans, pushing away every time the criticism that after a certain point began to bombard her in quite a shortsighted way). However, the fact remains that few would have been able to tackle the topic that lingers in the album, and she nonetheless manages to imbue it with a wonderfully "Amosian" quality that causes her fans (at least those not lost in the meanders of "preventive" criticism and clichés, not to mention those with ham slices over their ears :-D) to appreciate her even in her objectively "weaker" albums. That said, it’s disappointing to see so much superficiality in the comments, and I’m not afraid to say that I firmly believe few of them stem from an actual listening to the album, but on the other hand, it confirms certain traits of hers that not everyone can or manages to appreciate (a snobbish thought, but we EWF are a bit like that). If we want to talk about Botox, let’s talk about it, but I insist that these are matters that stray quite a bit from what should really matter (especially when I think of certain critics, but also of many Debaser sheep ready to praise every new fart of PJ Harvey, for example, who has been in creative crisis for at least 12 years). Regarding "importance," Amos has been one of the greatest (and perhaps the greatest) singer-songwriters of her generation and one of the most courageous art-pop experimenters ever, as confirmed by the four masterpieces of the '90s. Then it depends on what you want to talk about: I believe it’s impossible to compare the entire musical knowledge of the '90s and choose what was most important: every genre has produced its peaks. All I know is that looking around, I’m quite sure I haven’t "wasted time" in those years and have appreciated the things that, in my view, were the most relevant, but those are personal discourses, perhaps too much to deserve deeper exploration.
