HB's speech is more than agreeable_ the Italian problem isn't so much in the musical proposals (which do exist) but in the dichotomy between the consumers of Anglo and Italophone Trashpop on one end and those who see the pursuit of visibility at all costs as an absolute evil, inadvertently adopting a rather provincial and somewhat arrogant attitude. Lupo Alberto isn't crude at all, quite the opposite. The "Simpsons" were until the second season, and then they improved: however, we're talking about quite different things, and while LA is very comparable to the "Peanuts" by Silver's own admission (self-promotion, go here if you're interested in the discussion: Il Grande Lupo Alberto 1 - Silver - Recensione di Girlanachronism the "Simpsons" (even though in Groening's original idea they were born as a comic but then developed directly in the television medium without going through the subsequently created paper format) can be compared in the use of the "small occurrence" technique (created by Schulz) and in the choral dimension of the universe they inhabit (something Schulz was the first to grasp); for the rest, the language (and the ultimate goal) has been quite different. Nonetheless, despite what one might think superficially, the "Peanuts" are much more "universal" than the "Simpsons" (which will forever be tied to their context and era), and almost 60 years after their creation, they are still proving this. We'll see if Groening's creations (still genius in their own way) will keep up in 40 years. Thank you for stopping by.
